Port to Atlantis?

How easy is it to get from the Port to the Atlantis without using a DCL excursion? Has anyone done it? cost? THANKS!

Very easy! There are many water taxi's there that will take you, I don't remember the exact cost, but I think it was like $2 or $3 per person.

It is very easy.That is the only way we have done Atlantis,and the cost was four dollars a person one way.Mind you this was a year ago this past May.

It was still $4.00 per person in May of this yr. On our way over we rode w/ another family in passenger van. It was quite a ride w/ an amusing & agressive driver. On the way back we rode in a limo, and it was still $4.00 a person.

And I'd recommend the ground taxis over the water taxi.

The ground taxi will drop you right at the door to Atlantis and pick you up there to take back to the port. Just walk to the end of the dock and they are all right there waiting to pick up.

The water taxi drops off/picks up a few blocks away from Atlantis and they typically don't launch until they have a very full boat.

Hello!

We just got back and we chose the Discover Atlantis excursion, but chose to take our own taxi back to port to save some time and it was just $4. We regretted booking the excursion when we found out how easy and inexpensive it was to travel on your own!

I recommend eating lunch at the center aquarium restaurant. It is really beautiful and afterwards walk down the steps and enjoy the views!!

Thank you for all of your responses. I think that we are going to book a room there so that the kids can use the pools. How difficult is it to get a taxi back? How much time should we allow if we need to be back on the ship by 5ish. We're probably going to book Comfort Suites (much less expensive). Has anyone else done this?

There are always plenty of taxis to take you back. Give yourselves at least a 1/2 hour, if you want to avoid the last minute rush.
