Try Sanuk sandals/ flip flops. They have a line that has a yoga mat bottom that has really good arch support. It's yoga mat bottom for Women and Beer Cozy for men :) I got a pair of the Beer cozy and they are awesome for my big hobbit feet and I need the arch support!

My wife also has a yoga mat pair and loves them.

Oh and we're are 15 days away and can't wait! Still haven't told our kids

I have tried to find a pair of walkable sandals to wear for water rides, I refuse to have wet running shoes! I have had to return 3 pairs!! Thought I had a winner, walked 2 miles in them and have a nasty blister already

Remember that if you're just using them for water rides, you can bring your other shoes with you. Just switch out as needed. So if you can't find anything perfect, just find *something*, and you only have to make it through the ride line in them.

I personally find my Crocs Athens to be perfect, but Crocs don't work for everyone. And for me there's a short period of time where my skin wants to just blister up and die in a new pair of Crocs, even while my foot bones feel like they are walking on clouds. Then the blistering time is done and they are nothing but comfy.

Did you get your Magical Express tags too? For the first time since I can remember, we got the Mickey Mail (plastic luggage tags included), but not the ME stuff. It is listed in the document, though, both coming and going. Guessing the ME tags and vouchers might come later? There is some reference to that possibility in the itinerary page.

We got Mickey Mail on day 40, we are now at day 34.

I would recommend you do the online Magical Express registration if you haven't already. I had requested ME via phone when I made our November reservation several months ago. However, last month, I found a link to register for ME online. Upon doing so, I received an email confirmation of my ME "reservation" within two days, something I never received upon doing it on the phone. The next week, I received my ME information packet, with tags, in the mail. It seems the online registration expedited the process.

Would you use this if you received tags?

Im on a cruise prior to resort stay and I have tags that say Port Orleans on them. Im assuming I put those on my bags prior to getting off the ship. Documentation claims that I wont have luggage tags if I am not scheduled to take ME from airport to resort though.

Not sure if they will work for everyone, but have you tried Crocs? I need arch support too - plantar fasciatis - and I swear by my Croc sandals. I can walk 10 miles in them and feel good :goodvibes I actually have them in black and brown. Hope that helps!

My son loves no lives in his crocs, they hit my foot at the wrong spot :( I have tough feet to fit! :(

Have you tried Orthaheel. I purchased my first pair earlier this summer and loved them. In fact I loved them so mush I bought a pair of their sneakers, that I am planning on bringing to Disney with me.

Never heard of these! Love finding new brands to seek out! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Your kids will adore you! We surprised our kids eight years ago, amazing memories! I think I have tried Sanuk, wish they had stretchy fabric, but I may be thinking of another brand...loved the soles!

DSW had a pair of Clark sandals on clearance! They are a half size larger than I needed but I can adjust the heel, they even gave me birthday cash coupon since my birthday is next week! Got them for $19!!!! So happy to be able to walk in comfort!

Thanks all and so excited for everyone's trips! Hope our footpaths cross!

Good luck with the murphy bed. My DD was 5' 2.5" last time she slept in one and she was fine, she loved it. As long as you or your DD don't sleep fully stretched out, I think you'll be OK.

The Magical Express bus pickup from DTD was only a trial during August, sorry. Your timing will be very tight I think, I would be most surprised if you can land at MCO at 5:30, get ME to POR, and then get to DTD by boat by 7:30! I would try to change your reservation to at least an hour later, or think about quickly dropping your bags at Bell Services and then getting a taxi straight to DTD (and come back and check in at POR later).

Andre

We both sleep culed up, our other three sleep stretched out, should be fun!

Great tips on taxi, probably our best option!

3 more days until we check in at POR!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm so excited! We leave this Fri and get there Sat. It feels like I have been planning and obsessing over every little detail of this trip for forever, and now it's finally here! It's our first family trip to WDW and my DH's and my first time back since we were little kids. We surprised our kids this past Fri with a scavenger hunt ending at the Magic Bands and the news of our trip...they were so shocked and excited! They've been thanking us every day since then. Lol. :thumbsup2

I'm so thankful for this thread and Andre and Venom! So much awesome information. :goodvibes

I will have a stroller in my room at night and a few days with a carseat in there once we return the rental. Not to mention suitcases :)
My youngest is almost 3 at travel so I could try for an ab room or just go with a mansion.
I'm thinking the AB rooms and mansion rooms are the same measurements but I'm thinking the Murphy bed in the AB room might take up extra space where the mansion rooms won't have it.
Which room will I have more floor space to put stuff?
What do you all know :) thanks

I would hope for a Mansion room, as the Bayou section does not have elevators. I agree too that the murphy bed will take up space that you need.

If you won't be using the carseat, you could store it with Bell Services.

Is the slide supposed to be closed soon and if so for how long? Thanks

Apparently there is some maintenance work due to be done on the Riverside pool slide, but it will be done "third shift" (i.e. outside of pool operating hours, so it won't impact guests)

We are here at POR right now. We visited DHS and loved using the MB for FP. I had went on the website before we got to the park and changed two of our FP times so we could arrive after lunch. That was nice and the readers in the park worked great, with no problems. Lunch at POR was good and not crowded. No problems with the RFID cups today either. :)

We went to MK today and our KTTW cards didn't work at the turn stiles but they were ok when the guy scanned them in the mobile unit. No MB therefore no PF+ but did Buzz, Monsters Inc, Stitches, Winnie the Pooh and Journey of the little mermaid in 1.5 hours-and we did not rush-we took many pics. and still had time before our 1145 BOG ADR

I don't think the RFID cups were working properly. The drink button needed to be held to fill your cup. I stopped and started my diet lemonade several times, then poured some out and topped up with sprite without any waiting anytime.

Talked to the guys working on the waterwheel and they hope to have it finished by Friday but it depends on what Disney wants them to do now that things have been scraped
