My DD is 5'7" and she slept on it with no complaints!! So, you will more than likely be fine!! Have a great trip!

Thank you!!! That is so awesome to hear! When we first made the switch from Contemporary to POR, I asked around to see if anyone over 5'3 had stayed on them...I don't think anyone ever responded so I could not tell my daughter for certain it would work...we always stayed in Deluxe since my 6'3 son really needed the long daybed...but to save $1000, ds will be sleeping with my husband and I'll be in the other bed with my daughter, our youngest always gets the hump seat in the back of the Prius..last year she had to sit b/w two tall siblings for the 14 hour drive home :) We are park commandos so are just in the room long enough to shower, sleep, and head back out :)

You have helped alleviate one more worry! :) Thanks!!

27 days to go!! Can't wait to check into our RR and start using the MB's we got today. DS5 and DD2 were just as excited as my wife and I to get them from the UPS guy. LOL. Anyone get the first haircut package at Harmony Barbershop?? Thinking of doing it for my DD but don"t really want to cut off her curls.

I have tried to find a pair of walkable sandals to wear for water rides, I refuse to have wet running shoes! :) I have had to return 3 pairs!! Thought I had a winner, walked 2 miles in them and have a nasty blister already :( I have back injury from old car accident, have to have arch support...just not many options out there! Ecco, Keen, Merrell, Chacos have all failed to impress :( I may just end up putting a pair of $5 flip flops in my camera bag and pull them out for those type rides then put my walking shoes back on.

Crocs. I SWEAR by them. Not the prettiest things by any means, but I had plantar fasciitis a few years back, and I swear Crocs helped me heal.
I buy the Medical RX relief ones, 39.99. Most comfortable things EVER for the water rides and water parks. I even wore mine at Typhoon Lagoon IN the wave pool and lazy river.
Probably looked like a huge dork......but hey, my feet felt great :lmao:

You are welcome!! I'm sure you will be good! It isn't the thickest mattress but it is enough to get by ;) We actually stayed at the Contemporary and the Poly and all three of our kids prefer POR...so you may have made the more affordable and more favorable choice here!

We check in tomorrow at POR even though we've been in Florida since last Saturday visiting family. It's been hard to be so close but not check in. Nine nights is going to be great! Catch you all when I can!

Thank you Andre, Venom, and everyone else for all your help. It has made a significant difference in our prepations.

Have guests ever been upgraded to a Royal Room when booked (and paying) for something less expensive?

:banana: Have an awesome check in!!! Nine nights sounds divine!! We are going for 7 and worry it will fly by toooo fast! :) Make sure to give us an update on your room and first day events :) I love reading others' experiences!!

We check in on Thursday. Does Por have the carts for guests to use for luggage?

No, but Bell Services can help you if you ask.

It has been known (happened to someone here a few days ago in fact) but don't expect it as it's fairly unusual.

We asked for medical reasons-to heat a magic bag for pain relief and warming solution for nasal rinse. But like was mentioned it is not guaranteed,

CM's here are amazing and want to help you if they can

I had no idea you could request a microwave. My son (5) is on a mostly liquid diet which he will only drink warm, and is so fussy about the temperature. At home we warm it in the microwave, but when we stayed at POFQ last December it was so hard/big pain to get it right for him. (He has autism and can be a bit stubborn about things :) )

I'm almost afraid to try to request one though. I have so many requests already. (we need a refrigerator - we'll have two children on liquid diets, one will only drink hers cold, and an infant for whom we need to store breast milk). So I'm requesting a refrigerator, first floor - my DS jumps when he has sensory issues - and as close to the food court as possible. Do you think asking for a microwave is too much? Maybe if I am close enough to the food court, I can walk over there to microwave...but I don't have a preferred room so I don't know how close we will be.

Will asking for a microwave make it more difficult to get my other requests? (I know the microwave wouldn't be a guarantee, I'm just trying to think it through).

Great news! I've have not decided on our exact sleeping arrangements yet but my DD18 is 5'4 and she might end up sleeping there in one of the rooms. We will have 4 plus a 2 year old and 5 plus an infant & we were worried about her maybe having to sleep on one of the Murphy beds.

No matter the arrangements, we all plan to have the best vacation yet - starting in just 10 days.

As your requests are all linked to the same medical conditions I think you should be fine. Microwaves and fridges can be moved around to fit the guests' needs, so don't worry too much about that limiting your room choices.

Start out by briefly outlining the specific challenges you face, and then list the specific requests and mention why they are needed for your family. Don't go into too much detail (they won't have time to read an essay) but make sure the important details are clearly covered.

Send your fax around 5 days out (or maybe earlier, as these are medical requests) and they will hopefully be able to help you.

We just checked in no wait, tested our Magic Bands and were upgraded from a standard room to a Royal Room garden view in Parterre Place. We are happy and ready to enjoy our visit. The CM's have been very nice and helpful.

What did you put on your request initially? We definitely want mansions but have never stayed here before and really dont like the fact that the mansion rooms look more of the southern Motif than Disney. But I know RGR are decorated very Disney!

Is this a reasonable room request or too specific to be honored? We have garden view reservations.

Connecting rooms
Magnolia Terrace
2nd floor

My DD7 loves the mansion staircases thinking they are grand :) She SO wants to be on 2nd floor to use them daily. Mom wants to be close to the bridge between Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace as it sees a smooth walk to pool and FC while not being too too far from bus stops (any further than we have been at POFQ)

Thanks, Sydnerella's Mama

Good morning everyone!

Your very welcome Yellowstonetim, we enjoy to help!

We are now 7 days from arrival... almost in the "do I fax or do I not fax" zone. We have a standard room in AB ( 5 people).. I already requested top floor room .. Id love to be close to the main building..but I also want my room ready when we get there if possible. Also we have 2 ressies..1 room only 1 package.. at the very least should I fax to be sure they try to keep us in the same room?

We check in on September 9th-19th at PORR. We got the royal room pool view rooms, hoping there not to far away from the food court. I put in a medical request for a refrigerator, and already did the online check in. Has anyone stayed in the royal rooms pool view before? Far from the food court? I've stayed at PORR 5 times before, once in the mansions and all the other times in AB.

Your request to being as close as possible to main building isn't going to say your room isn't going to be available when you check in. The other guest that checked in just randomly the room wasn't ready. Technically I believe we can wait til 3pm allow check in. Since some guests have a late checkout or switch resorts and even mouse keeping can fall behind in clean up if someone left mess in the room. So odds are you may just check right in and be available. But falling behind can happen in any one of the buildings so I wouldn't worry about where you request to determine if you add that to your requests. I say fax but that is just me and many others that have done this. I hope either way your trip goes as magical as possible!

It's not far really especially if you have a pool view. Short walk across the bridge right where the pool is and your at the main building. I'd say maybe not even 4-5 minute walk at a casual pace.
