What are the chances of getting a microwave? Must you ask for one and is there an extra fee?

Yes you must ask for one. No there is no fee. Chances well it is 50/50 but once you have one its yours until check out, or you can turn it back in when you no longer think you will need it.

Hey POR experts, how much is a cab from CR to POR? And from POR to the Outlet Mall on Vineland?

I am trying to weigh the cost of a rental car($150 for a week) vs taking a cab a couple of times and using buses the rest. In my last few trips buses have been fine except end of the night after MNSSHP. I was thinking of using cab those nights.

TIA
I don't know about the cabs but the bus system was awesome this past week(I just got home and hour ago) The longest we waited was 10 min and that even includes a couple nights at MK after wishes. I enjoy the buses.

we got one for medical needs although we didn't have it in our room(front desk thought it was there) but they got one right away for us. They are very limited and I so appreciated having it.

This is what happened to us last February! We had one of those perfect transportation trips. Every time we walked up a monorail was there or a bus arrived. The only wait was of course at DTD waiting to get back to resort. But honestly the ONLY time we waited all week! Love that!

We are staying at POR specifically becasue of the extra bed in the Alligator Bayou rooms, but it just occured to me that Disney doesn't "count" my youngest as a guest. We already paid for a preferred room (hoping for buliding #14) and our TA doesn't seem to think we will get anything other than an AB room -- but now I'm worried.

Would they stick 5 of us in a standard size room because our 3rd child doesn't count?

Since you booked Preferred, you will be in the AB section which will have a murphy bed.

I think all the preferred rooms are in the Alligator Bayou section so you should be good.

Anyone know what the chances are of being able to check in early? ( a few hours). I know there's no guarantee, I was just curious if others have had good luck with being able too. We leave in 3 days.....woohoo!!!

You can check in as early as you like (6am even). You may not get a room immediately of course - although if you're not fussy about special requests you might well do. You will be able to get your tickets/etc and be able to leave your luggage and head off to the parks in the meantime though.

Just have to shout! I earned a brand new clippie!! Down 80 pounds, 20 more to go but sooooo excited to hit POR much smaller than I was! Hoped I would be at the 100 pound clippie, but weight loss is so tricky! Excited!!
congrats on your weight loss. I know it is a hard go but really worth it. I have lost 35 lbs--another 25 to go. I just got back from disney and haven't weighed myself but I wonder how much I put back on hehehe. Now I am back to being good :) Have fun in POR WE had a blast. It is such a wonderful place.

Andre,

We arrive at POR in 10 days. We have free dining and so no preferred rooms were available for us. Is it possible to request ( and pay for) a preferred or Riverview room at check in or via fax?

Thank you,

Stacy

Exact same question. Lol we arrive in 10 days too!

Sigh....only booked three weeks ago, and I need to change dates! Lol

We're booked for May 11-17. I'm belong to our local Chamber of Commerce for my business, and am on the committee for the annual awards banquet. We had a meeting this morning, and the venue was booked for the 15th! Sigh....totally forgot about this commitment when booking things. It wouldn't be so big a deal, but I offered to do the dessert able for the event.

I'll wait for D to get home to chat about it, but we may move it up a week. So still May, but one week earlier...yay!

I can testify to this. When we went down in 2010, we had no special requests, and our room was ready when we arrived at 8am-ish. Just like that.

But when we went in 2012, we had a RGR w/ garden view and had to wait for the afternoon check-in. So we left our bags in the baggage area and went to EPCOT to get lunch. I got the text that the rooms were ready just as we fininshed. We went back, checked into our rooms, changed and headed right back to EPCOT to check out some countries before our Candlelight Proc. meal at Garden Grille. Very minimal inconvenience and provided a nice mid-day break

I would personally move it up a week. I've been there at all different times in May. This past May we were there the week leading up to Memorial Day Weekend. My favorite week we did was April 28-May 6th. The weather was very nice and the crowds were a low/moderate level... VERY Pleasant!!! The year we went the week you're currently booked for it was more crowded and it poured buckets all day every day 6 out of the 7 days we were there.

It seems to me that everything is set up for the magic bands-stores, restaurants, and even the carriage ride. Looks like everyone has had training with them. I am sure it will be a go for everyone soon. I was very surprised at the numbers of grey bands at POR and the number of people that had no clue about them. They obviously aren't DISers :rotfl2:

Another BBB question...so, I have reservations at 9:05 to the downtown disney location. I noticed buses start at DTD at 830....I think I will need to have a cab at least bring us there. I don't think that half hour would give us enough time (considering I hear always give yourself an hour). How much would a cab be from POR to DTD?

Thanks everyone!!! 34 more days to the 7th birthday and first visit surprise for my daughter!!!

Well we leave for our disney trip in 24 hours!

So looking forward to WDW and especially POR, a BIG thanks to everyone on here for all their helpful information - especially Andre and Venom.

Not looking forward to the travelling though - one hour to the airport, 15.5 hours from Sydney to Dallas a 4 hour stopover and another 2.5 hours from Dallas to Orlando!

Wish us luck!!!

I was thinking about that....if it wasn't for these threads, I would have NO CLUE about customizing bands or fastpass+. I'm thankful we have our pretty bands :-)...although something tells me I'll be shelling out some $ to decorate them...
