Good Morning Port Orleans Riverside lovers. Happy tea time Andre ;)

We will be arriving one week from today and I have a very exciting, no doubt, repetitive room request question for you!!! I booked through a TA who should be in contact about our room but I am wondering if I should still fax in my specific room request or will it just confuse the situation?

Thanks!!

Hope you are having a good day Venom. Been think about your family...

Still lunch time here, but thanks for the thought. :)

Yes, I would fax your requests if you want to make sure that they get through. Your TA will presumably have asked for them to be added to your reservation already, but it never does any harm to be certain.

Crocs. I SWEAR by them. Not the prettiest things by any means, but I had plantar fasciitis a few years back, and I swear Crocs helped me heal.
I buy the Medical RX relief ones, 39.99. Most comfortable things EVER for the water rides and water parks. I even wore mine at Typhoon Lagoon IN the wave pool and lazy river.
Probably looked like a huge dork......but hey, my feet felt great :lmao:

I can't find the original post, but I would suggest Orthaheels. They were suggested by my local running store and are the only sandals that don't hurt my feet when I spend a lot of time in them.

I mentioned Orthaheels earlier. I love them. I have a pair a cute sandals and a pair of sneakers.

I gout mine from Amazon, but QVC also sells them if you can't find a local shoe store that carries them.

The best flip flops I own!

We checked out of POR today. We had a great stay. The resort is beautiful! Loved the Royal Room. Bus service was good, only waited a while after Magic Kingdom closed. The food court was busy one day when we were there, can't complain. We had a slow drain in the bathtub and they fixed it while we were at DHS. Got to see Bob's show, very fun. Loved the boat service to DTD. Wasn't our first stay will probably not be the last.

My husband is diabetic and we will need a refrigerator to store insulin. Do we need to fax the request or is it enough to ask at the desk when we check in?
We faxed the request in and then mentioned it at checkin. They said we had one but we didn't. There is a lot of confusion over the fridges. We did eventually get one

It's a big headache for the resort, as they have to keep moving the working fridges around for medical needs, special requests, etc. Trying to keep tabs on which rooms have which fridges must be a nightmare!

I know. my heart goes out to them. They try so hard to please eveyone with what they have. I think they do a great job.

Andre, any word on the availability of MBs and FP+ for November arrivals? If not, what is your best guess as to whether they will be offered?

For what it's worth, I had to call reservations a few days ago because one of our kids was not showing up on the room reservation. We were booked for POFQ at Christmas and when I told the lady I just wanted to fix it in case we were able to do the Magic Bands, she said, "By then it should be out for all the resorts."

I'm on a bit of a Disney high right now because it occurred to me yesterday that by moving our dates back by one day and switching to POR we could get 'free dining' for 11 nights over Christmas! We had to upgrade to a Royal Guest Room, Garden View, so will only be 'saving' a couple of hundred dollars overall, but will be able to have better meals than paying OOP for counter service meals. I can't believe they offer 'free dining' at such a busy time. :confused3

Lastly, I just wanted to say thank to Andre for the awesome PortOrleans.org site. Such a wealth of information!!

Hi my lovely people who have been a HUGE help in my planning...

Quick question. Would my TA be sending my Mickey mail or will I get it directly from Disney??

So excited. 36 days to go!!!

I use a TA and she mails my Mickeymail to us after she gets it from Disney.

Does anyone know how late the poolside bar is open on Ol Man Island? And is it a good place to sit and unwind after a long day in the parks?

Gorechick, to answer your questions....we will not have a car. We don't think we need to overlook the gardens and fountain as well as the river, although it does sound nice. I am assuming being close to the bridge would help to have quicker access to the bus stops so that would be good.

I've received Magic Bands for my late-September trip, since I reserved at POR. I've since switched my resort to CSR. Can I still use the MBs during the trip? I probably can't use FP+, because I cant access that page on MDE anymore, but I should be able to use the rest of the features of MBs, no?

Can't remember exactly how late it's open but on our 2 trips in April DH & I enjoyed getting drinks there & relaxing at a table by the back of the pool near the bar. Also saw people playing cards at the tables in the bar. Really nice area to relax in. Enjoy your trip!!

Ds must skype with his Arabic tutor while we are there, how is wifi? Free? Will m large laptop be safe since it will not fit in safe? We leave in 3 days....
