Does anyone know how late the poolside bar is open on Ol Man Island? And is it a good place to sit and unwind after a long day in the parks?

It's a bit seasonal and varies by demand, but in the warmer months it's usually open until around 10pm. I got a drink there around 10:15pm one evening in August, but another evening on the same trip they were closed by that time.

I've received Magic Bands for my late-September trip, since I reserved at POR. I've since switched my resort to CSR. Can I still use the MBs during the trip? I probably can't use FP+, because I cant access that page on MDE anymore, but I should be able to use the rest of the features of MBs, no?

If you can persuade a manager at CSR to activate it for you (they should all be able to access the systems to do it) then you'll be OK. You'll get a regular KttW card too, which does exactly the same things.

Ds must skype with his Arabic tutor while we are there, how is wifi? Free? Will m large laptop be safe since it will not fit in safe? We leave in 3 days....

The in-room wi-fi hasn't been too bad for us, and they've beefed up the bandwidth a bit since it first launched. If he only needs audio Skype he should be fine. We've video chatted too, but the connection quality was a bit more patchy - maybe because I was also streaming a webcam of the view at the same time from another device but via the same wi-fi access point? (So as long as I'm not in the next room to you, probably not an issue ).

We are going to be planning an extended family trip to POR next August 2014 (15th to 22). The online system is not showing ANY rooms available. They aren't renovating POR next summer are they??? .

You've probably seen by now, but availability for your dates is back again for all POR room categories. As I suspected, it was just a glitch.

Just have to shout! I earned a brand new clippie!! Down 80 pounds, 20 more to go but sooooo excited to hit POR much smaller than I was! Hoped I would be at the 100 pound clippie, but weight loss is so tricky! Excited!!

Congratulations! DH and I are headed to POR in December...I was hoping that we'd be celebrating 100 pounds lost between the two of us...well, he's lost 73 so far and I've lost 25 so we're 2 pounds away with another 2 and a half months still to go!

Hey POR experts, how much is a cab from CR to POR? And from POR to the Outlet Mall on Vineland?

I am trying to weigh the cost of a rental car($150 for a week) vs taking a cab a couple of times and using buses the rest. In my last few trips buses have been fine except end of the night after MNSSHP. I was thinking of using cab those nights.

So I caved and grabbed for the little bit more a night...could not get it for my Nov 15th trip and suddenly for the heck of it I checked and it was there today...I have 7 and 9 year old girls so I think they will like this type of room...Is there one building better than the other or basically the same I know they are located in two mansion buildings.

We would like to take the boat to Downtown Disney to visit DisneyQuest. It drops you off on the opposite end from DisneyQuest, right? Will the boat continue on to the other end, or do you get off and take the internal DTD boat to the DisneyQuest end? (I know you can also walk there. lol )

The boat only makes that one stop in downtown Disney, then it heads back.

Everyone seems to request Oak Manor as it looks closer to the bridge. IMO Parterre is just as close and I think the garden and fountain is far prettier. Plus it has a "throne" seat right in front of the main stairwell.

The boat from POR will drop you off at the dock that is located on the Market Place side of Disney, right near Rain Forest Café.
I believe there is also an "internal" red flagged boat that travels between that dock and the other dock located in West Side (where Disney Quest is located) that you can take. Or, you can walk.
I am not sure if the internal boat still makes a stop at the Pleasure Island dock or not? Maybe someone else here knows.
