Bouncing around the idea of staying at POR if I can not get FD for the LM rooms.
A few questions.
Do they have a zero entry pool or children's spray area or kiddie pool?
How about a playground? If we stay here we will pay for a preferred room so we can be in AB, my 5 year old thought they were pretty neat. Also if we were in AB preferred how far would be be from a bus stop?:thumbsup2 Thanks all!

Booked POR for September, looking forward to exploring the resort! We stayed at CBR last year and loved it. Cannot wait to see what POR has to offer!

made it here yesterday around 6. sharing a room with another family that got here first and they got to check in first. I made the ressie's so my name was 1st but because the other fam got here 1st they got moved as 1st. No biggie but there was an issue of getting my credit card back on to my credit card for charges.

So excited to be heading back to our favorite resort!!! We are booking for late September. I was thinking about trying AB, but some of the buildings seem so far away compared to the mansions. DH and my Dad love the mansions. We are driving this trip so we will be using our car a lot more on this trip. We will book a standard room so how crazy is requesting a room close to parking?

If staying in a Royal Room and you request close to food court, that will also put you close to the South Depot bus stop.

That's up to you. ME runs 24 hours a day and with a 7AM flight, your ME bus pick up time would be 4AM.

Thanks for your reply.
Is there a category for that location like garden or river view? I really don't want to pay more, but if it ups my chances of being in a close location, I will do it. Can I just do a regular royal room and say close to food court? Or is there a certain building?

Yet another good reason not to share rooms.....

Standard RR's are facing the parking lot. They are the farthest from the food court.

Riverview will be closer to the food court, but preferred rooms will be closest.

Disney wised up a couple of years ago on mods by taking requests and turning them into booking categories.

You cannot book a standard room, especially in RR's and expect to be close to the food court. You should look at the map.

See the first page; no zero entry pool, but kiddie pool and playground.

Has anyone on here requested a king room and a preferred room? If so how did they charge you? Thanks

Yahoo! I know how it can seem like it takes forever to get to check in day. I try to busy my thought with getting the suitcases ready and buyng items that need to be packed in them. Do you have little ones? You could work on making a small goodie bag with treats and small toys or games for the plane or car trip.

I've been looking through the POR picture thread, playing around on My Disney Experience, and (like you suggested) shopping for little things here and there to pack :) Haven't been blessed with little ones yet, but thanks for the ideas!

Booked our first extended trip to Disney, we have always done just a day driving from Cocoa Beach. Our youngest has never been! We are staying 7 nights in POR and booked a preferred room. I am super excited!

Just back on Thursday from our 2nd stay in POR in 3 weeks. Both times preferred rooms in AB - building 18 and this time building 14. Great rooms, perfect location. Bus stop is super close, just cut through the parking lot to the stop or if you're at the food court it's just through the gift shop doors. There's a great playground for kids located on the "island" where the pool is. I didn't see any zero entry at the main pool. There must be a kiddie pool but I didn't look for one. Saw the hot tub with tons of kids & parents in it though. We actually used the quiet pool behind AB Building 18 to relax and swim in & then people watched late evening at the main pool. There's also movies nightly over by the mansions, but we never made it over there. The boat ride to DTD is a must just to relax and see all the different resorts on the river.

Enjoy your trip. We're hoping to go back in the fall for a longer stay & spend more time at the resort than at the parks. :wave2:

You may have mistaken the kiddie pool for the hot tub if you didn't walk over to it. I did from a distance ;) There is a good sized kiddie pool on one side and almost directly across the main pool a smaller hot tub. I'd say maybe 6-8 person tub. It was really nice and hot - didn't see many kids in there and mine thought it was too hot to put more than feet and legs in. Boy did it feel good to the feet and legs after a day walking in the park! Of course, later in the evening it was full of teenagers

I'm not sure how deep the kiddie pool was, we didn't check it out too closely.

I am working on goodie bags for my 2! 16 days until we go :). I seems so far away but I know it will come and bite me in the butt :(. Trying to get a few things each week so I am not sending a ton of $$$$ all at once. The only think I have forgotten thus far is sunscreen for the adults. I have tons for the kiddos, but need to add it to my list for this weekend!
