Silly question...Do they have towels at the pools? We have only stayed at Values (which do not) and DVC (which does) We have never stayed at a mod.

This actually annoyed the heck out of me at All Star Movies. Once we had used all of our towels for showers etc... in the morning and wanted to lay out by the pool. Well we called housekeeping asking for towels for the pool and it took a very very very long time until somebody showed up with them. I actually got mad and went to the pool with my son leaving my husband to wait for the towels.
It was ridiculous! I don't understand why they cant just have a rack with towels by the pool there. They have a towel drop off.
Needless to say, it was our first and last time at a value resort. It was a little too value for us.

We will be at riverside on April 1st for 18 days. Booked a preferred room at AB and just counting the days until we arrive. Stayed at Magnolia Terrace last year and my wife and i fell in love with this resort. Thanks to Andre and Venom for all their great advice and to everyone for all their helpful hints. Had enough cold for this year, looking for some sunshine!!!!:cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

Yeah! Just booked our trip. Going back to POR for the 3rd time. It's the first time in over 2 years, so I'm excited to see the room renovations. We'll be there May 24th-31st.

Thank you to Andre & Venom especially for maintaining this thread. I have learned so much over ther years from you!

Just wondering what would be the best way to get to the Comtemporary for a breakfast ADR at Chef Mickey's? I'm thinking bus to MK then walk? Does that sound right? Not sure how long the walk would be. This would be for a 7:00 ADR with a 9:00 park opening time. Thanks.

Just returned from POR on saturday.Just my husband and myself ,we were put in Ab side building 24.We were near the "quiet pool" not so quiet but was fine. The resort was beautiful ,the parks were crowded. We made the mistake of going to Magic K on Sunday .Busses were good we waited at the most 20 min at west stop.My husband had a scooter and we were always able to board. The boat ride was nice to Downtown and the food court was pretty good. I liked that the store sold some breakfast items and snacks. The dining plan was good though it would have been nice to exchange desserts for appetizers at some TS meals. It really is a beautiful resort and I would love to return again Thanks for all these great posts ,I really felt like I knew about the resort. Nan

Does anyone know when the Easter schedule for the resort might be posted? I'm trying to figure out our final plan for that morning, and my DH agreed to the Fireworks dessert party since we were planning to spend Easter morning at the resort.

Wow, 18 days at POR! Sounds like heaven to me. My parents and sister cannot believe that we are staying for 10 days, I think 18 would really freak them out. (they are homebodies that like a 4 to 5 day vacation at the most)Hope you have a great trip. Don't forget to report back to all of us here with how your stay goes.

That would normally be the best way to get there (the walk is about 10 minutes), but the buses start running at 6:30, so with a 7:00 ADR you'd have to make sure you make that first bus.

I'm totally surprised at the number of people who take their room towels to use as pool towels. They're so small and thin! Maybe it's because everyone in my family so tall, but that would never work for us. We always take our own beach towels, but that might also be because we drive and don't have to worry about how much luggage we have :thumbsup2

I am quite certain my DW will bring along her giant Little Mermaid Beach towel ! :)

This has been great for answering my questions about POR and I'm really looking forward to our stay at the end of May. I've been wondering about online check-in, this is our first visit and the reservations specialist suggested that I do regular check in. Opinions, will I miss out on valuable information by checking in online or just saving myself some time?

I've been wondering about online check-in, this is our first visit and the reservations specialist suggested that I do regular check in.

Personally I suggest doing online checkin as you can set up a lot of stuff in advance and reduce what you need to do at the front desk. This will become even more useful when the new MagicBands are introduced as you will be able to pre-request personalised ones. You can still ask questions of the cast member to help to find your way around the resort, etc.

If you are intending to send in a faxed room request, make sure you do the online checkin FIRST though (up to 60 days out if you wish) before sending your fax around 3-5 days out.

Thank you so much for the help! We're doing a Royal Riverview room, so should I make a building request too or does that pretty much limit me? And Royal Riverview wasn't really my first choice but it was the only Royal available.

I'd just request a room close to the bridge over to the main building, and leave it at that. The best locations are in the northern wing of Parterre Place or the southern wing of Oak Manor, so requesting a specific building might cut down your options a bit.

Does on line check in pop up somewhere? Where do you find it? I am two days away from sixty!!:cool1:

I'm 2 days away from online check-in also!! I think the online check-in pops up in "My Reservations" when you click on "View Details".

I got my Magical Express packet yesterday!! :thumbsup2

I'm from Canada and it says I can do online check in with 10 days left. Does this sound right forCanadians??

Thanks!!

My on-line check in is 5 days away. I know it is still over 60 days but I am excited!!

I am staying at a preferred location. Is there any differences to which building? My only real want is 2nd floor, a nice view and possible late check out. Since it is preferred it should be close to the buses and stuff, right?

I will be going there for my 40th birthday with my sisters leaving the kids and husbands at home :)

Unfortunately Canadians are often still only getting the old website which only allows for the 10 day check-in. There are ways to hide your IP address so that the Disney site is fooled into thinking you're in America so you can access the new site, but I haven't done that yet. Head over to the Canadian board as have been some great discussions about this problem over the last few months. Disney is supposedly aware of the problem, but I haven't a clue why it's still a problem after all this time? :confused3

Not sure if that is completely unfortunate. Lol the American version is soooo slow it's ridiculous and they still haven't fixed it where you can see how much you owe or make a payment. Funny that you guys have to go a back way to get to the new site and we go a back way to get to the old site. Why can't they just fix these issues?? :{

Thanks for all your help. I can wait. Just gives me something to mark off on the 10 day countdown. I'm so excited.

My kids are finding out on Sunday....which is also the 30 day mark!!! Woohoo:yay:
