My DS had an amazing time on his 1st pirate cruise at POR when he was 7. He came back with amazing stories of his adventure and lots of pirate booty...I found that I was worried for nothing...and as such, I wasted 2 precious hours to myself that would not come again soon ... Sigh :)

thank you so much, that makes me feel better!

Hi all,

I know I'm probably thinking about this very early but any ideas for requests for rooms at POR? Our group has booked 3 standard rooms. Don't mind whether we end up in manor buildings or Alligator Bayou (but happy to hear opinions on both!)

Are we likely to get all three rooms close together without asking? Or should this be a request? Which buildings would you recommend? We like walking and are all quite fit and able, so that doesn't really make a difference to us.

Any tips to score a garden view room without upgrading? :)

Thanks guys!!

We have a reservation at Rain Forest Cafe at DTD for dinner on a Friday night and plan to take the ferry... how long should be allow to get over there?

You can ask for three adjoining rooms and link your reservations; that will indicate that you want to be close together.

Since you are booked standard, you are more likely to be in AB, since there are more rooms available in that category. In the mansions, two full buildings are RR's and it takes a lot of rooms out of inventory.

The boat ride alone is about 20 minutes. At this time of day, I believe the boats run ten minutes apart. However, the queueing line to board the boats at this time of day is unpredictable. The boats have a capacity limit, so it may be a boat or two before you are allowed to board. Take this time in to account, as well.

17 Days until I get to see the beautiful POR resort.. I am trying so hard not to bounce off the freaking walls with excitement here at work...

Yay for 17 days :cool1:

I understand! I still have 48 days to go, but our last trip was in 2010 so I am soooo excited!! Don't forget about us once you get there and have your lovely blue folder in hand. We need details, pictures and anything else to kepp us all going until we can get there ourselves.

I hope you have a wonderful vacation!

We will be checking in on Sunday!! I was wondering if anyone there now got a bounceback offer in their packet?

The water taxi runs every ten minutes after 4 pm, so I would allow about a half hour at a minimum. It is a 20 minute ride, depending on how long they hang around POFQ.

RFC is right above the boat dock, so the walk is minimal.

Hiya - I'll be returning to POR in mid-June after a long hiatus... are all rooms now refurbed, or should I add a request for a refurbed room?

TIA!

I can completely understand the person who asked this question having concerns. While completely safe and secure, we had a not so fun experience with a connecting room at Pop Century a few years ago. There were a few little kiddos in the room next to us who thought it was FUN and HILARIOUS to open their side of the door and bang on ours. No adult correction that we could hear, and it kept happening all....week.....long. Pretty annoying!

We had something similar happen to us at the Contemporary (garden wings) several years ago. I don't want to experience that again which was why I asked. I do plan to request a non connecting room since there seems to be allot in the Bayou.
