We're going in Feb 2013 too (Presidents Week unfortunately, but we have no choice because of school break times :( ). We'll be at POR from late-afternoon on Sat 16th Feb to mid-day Mon 25th Feb 2013.

And yes, the new BatB restaurant is on our list too.

Andre

Oh darn, Andre. We'll just miss possibly meeting you in February. We'll be at either FOFQ or POR until late Friday afternoon, the 15th. Then we rent a car and drive a few hours further south to spend a week on Sanibel Island with my sisters. We'll be checking out the Fantasyland expansion with hopes of booking a bounceback to take our grandson for a week the end of August.

When? I believe we are targeting the 15th of Feb if not it will be 22nd of Feb.

Cant wait to see POR may have to do a split stay or at least stop by and see the POR.

YES, yes, yes, That is what we are hopped up for. Be our guest! We will be on the phones at 180 days out!

I've done my ADRs and rumour is BOG will be ready for reservations in Oct .... but then that is only rumour. Its meant to be opening for the 'holiday season' (there is debate about that, some say Xmas but a CM told me they consider the start of 'holiday season' to be Oct 31st)

So, just to make sure I am calling Dining every day ... they are sick of me :rotfl:

About four more months until our trip! DD, age 2, is so excited about her royal room with the fireworks on the bed that each night before she goes to bed, she pretends to push a button on her bed at home and then says "ooooo" and "aaahhhhh" about the pretend fireworks. :)

Can anyone recommend what non-preferred building in AB would be closest to a bus depot? We stayed in building 36 on our last visit, and this wasn't too bad. Just wondering if there is a better selection. It is always a bit hard to tell on the maps (and of course all dependent on where in each building you are located). We are not too concerned with a distant walk to the main building or pool if it means a short walk to our room from the bus with three sleepy children!

Well if that is the last week of Feb, we might just cross paths if you have time for a meet?

Yeah that is the way it was for us last year with Le Cellar in Canada Showcase of Epcot. We went there twice in this past Feb. So we know all about calling them everyday.

so anyone stay at preferred rooms at the riverside? Hubby insists it will probably will be worth paying extra for the room. is it really a lot less walking?

I guess preferred rooms are only at Alligator Bayou lodges.

Also wondering if they'll be 2 full beds or 2 queen beds for a family of 5. anyone know if this is guranteed or something to request. not sure what to believe from disney since today one agent said travel insurance hasn't gone up and the other stated (he was right) that insurance has gone up to $75 per person!

It's also my birthday and 60 days to go for our awesome vacation!

Happy Birthday! Our trip this december is a celebration of my 50th birthday of sorts....I turned 50 at the end of May but since this was such a big year I feel the celebration should continue through till the end of the year :rotfl2:

We were in building 36 in March and to us, it would have been worth the extra to have a preferred room. It wasn't a terrible walk to the front but it was a distance. If you are in a refurbed it will be two queens.

so is it worth paying for a preferred room for my family of 5? sounds like all families of 5 are put in one area/section (Alligator Bayou?) Is it a waste to be paying $169 for the preferred or do we chance being bumped up?

We were also a family of 5, and in the back. We did not pay the extra, my bad! You can get a preferred room for 5, just book that category.

Is is worth it, to us yes, to others no. My kids are older so for them to walk alone was no big deal but I would have never sent my young teen alone to the front from the area we were in. Disney is a very safe place, but at night the paths were pretty dark.

We'll have to get an August trippers list going soon. There are a few others, including Andre, that will be at POR mid-late August.

We will be at POR Aug 27-Sept 1 and plan to go to see Bob on the 30th or 31st (or both).

PORS is a big resort. For us it'd be worth paying to make sure we were closer to the main building. Some of those buildings are really far out. No way would I take the chance of being stuck in one of those buildings. With the preferred buildings being a bookable category, most people that want them are going to be willing to pay for them, so the chances of getting bumped up to one for free is going to be slim now.

We will be checking in late morning on Feb 14 and checking out either the 23rd or the 24th. Looks like Andre will be there too!

We decided not to do alot of ADRs and just go with the flow as far as eating 'cause we just weren't all that hungry the last time & felt like we were spending most of our time getting to our reservations.

Welcome back old friend!

It can be, ask Venom about his experience at the Polly thread.

Yeah I almost forgot about that lol. :rotfl2:

Me too! I know the first day we are there (the 14th) is gonna be a low key day hanging around POR and taking a boat to DTD to eat at T-Rex's for dinner. I think the second day we will be at MK for the rope drop. Thats as far as I got with planning lol. We are just gonna go with the flow for the most part.

Yeah that's what we always do too the first day, T-Rex. Mmmmmmm. I believe we are leaning towards the Feb. 22nd - 2nd or 3rd of March

We are getting ready for our first stay at POR we will be in the Alligator Bayou section. We will be arriving on Sept 22, and staying for 2 weeks. My inlaws will be joining us for the first week of our trip and we are all soo excited to stay at this resort.

My In laws usually stay at All star movies (this is also their first trip with Free dinig), and we have been Carribean Beach people. POR looks amazing! If you could give us some insights, tips, and any info you wish you knew on your first stay, we would really appreciate it!

TIA
