Hurray for me - only 5 days until we head back to POR (it will always be Dixie Landings to me)! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
With the updated rooms, my youngest will no longer be the trundle troll.

We are heading straight to the magic kingdom in the morning before we checkin at the por in the afternoon. I know we will have to pay for parking upfront but is there a way to get that refunded since we are actually staying onsite this day? Can't wait till tomorrow!

Why don't you check in at the resort to get your parking pass? You might even be able to get your room too. When I arrived here last Wed, I was able to check in and get my room at 8:30am.

We were able to check in at 7am last week and get our room. We just left our car in the front parking lot and jumped on a bus to the park!
Good luck

"Yes, there's a daily campfire on Ol' Man Island, and you can bring anything you want to toast from home (except perhaps annoying little sisters ) or they give out free marshmallows"

Thanks Andre! I greatly appreciate all of the information you post

We have booked a waterview room. Is it possible that even though it's just 2 adults and 2 kids that we may still end up in AB? I wouldn't mind myself and I think the kids would think the look of the rooms is cool but don't think DH would like it so much. Last time we were at POR we were in a Magnolia room but at the time I didn't keep up with which one. It was very nice even though it hadn't been refurbed yet. Before I switched to POR yesterday we were staying at CSR and there was a lot of discussion about online check in and screen shots of the options for requests. Anybody have and idea of the options for POR request doing online check in? I'm so glad that I was able to switch to POR after originally being told the military discounted rooms were booked. Had to keep trying back every few days. Can't wait to be back at POR.

WOW! I can't believe I read the whole thing! Just finished reading this entire thread and now, if it is at all possible, I am even more excited than ever for our trip!!! We (DH, 3 DD's, and my mom) are booked in two rooms at POR 4/20-4/27. It will be our first Disney trip as a family (with DH), our first time to POR, my DH's and my mom's first time to Disney and my DH's birthday. He is visually impaired (RP which has caused tunnel vision, depth perception problems and low light trouble) and I am wondering if it would be helpful for me to request a corner room. Just wondering if we had 2 windows, maybe we would get better light in the room and he might have an easier time. He is already pretty worried about getting around the parks and will be taking his white cane. Hoping that will make others aware that he is impaired and maybe we can avoid nasty looks and comments from people if he bumps into someone or whatever. Anyway, any input on having a 2nd window and if that would be an ok request?

Thank you for this thread, it is awesome! :cheer2:

We have a waterview room booked also and we're looking forward to this trip. We always stay at the deluxe resorts...but this trip it's a moderate. A few years back we were at PO for a pirate adventure and I remember telling my sister, "If I ever had to stay at a moderate, THIS would be the place." It's beautiful! ;)

It is certainly an o.k. thing to ask if you think it would help! You should call reservations and request that they add that info to your reservation information. Just explain the situation.

I could read the excitement in your post, and I hope your family has a fantastic time. WDW is very accomidating for all, so I imagine your husband will be just fine. There maybe a "bump in the road" here or there, but don't worry about it and just have a magical time.

I'm sure our first year there we frustrated people by stopping in the middle of the walkways as we stared at all the cool sights, checked our maps,\; and we didn't know how to order at CS meals very well with the dining plan, etc..., I'm sure we made people dodge around us or bump into us, wait longer to make their orders, etc... it's just par for the course at Disney. We didn't know any better and were just living in the moment.

I'm suppose to be in WDW right now!! I had to move it next year. Yes, it will give us more time to save money and do more planning. Cheer up.. It's not so bad.. Hey, at least you're still going and not cancelling. :)

well at least you know it won't be freezing in Sept :) You never know about Feb...... and Sept. is supposed to be good crowds :)

Agree! Less crowds in September!! And you will be able to enjoy the pool better!! The pool may be heated, but if the air is cold... you will definitely will get the chill! :)

We're going in Sept. '13 too! It'll be here before you know it!

Thanks guys! pixiedust:
We've gone in Sept. twice, and Aug. twice. 1st. week of Feb. once.
Just was 'selfishly' wanting to go back for my birthday in Feb.

I do like the fact that we'll only have to pack shorts and t-shirts and not shorts, t-shirts, jeans, sweatshirts, light jackets, parkas, gloves and hats. :rotfl2:

Dh and I both feel relieved to postpone...but sad to postpone.
One more kid will have turned 10 before Sept.!!! Oy.

Anyway, thanks for the encouragement! :grouphug:

Thank you! I do plan to have a magical time and I know that anywhere we go there are always a few jerky people but many more nice ones. Having never been to Disney he has some nervousness, but I have reassured him that it will be fine. I know he and my mom will love it as much as my daughters and I do. Just can't wait till April!

I posted this on Nov thread too, but does anyone know if desert party is really sold out 11/21 or they just haven't opened it up yet?

November dates haven't been released for booking yet. Best guess I have is it will open sometime after Sept 1st ..... probably the first week.

Have two room reservations with free dining for October 22-29. Made two room only reservations for October 20-22. I paid a deposit for both room only reservations...or so I thought. I received my credit card statement last week and even though the two room only reservations were made at the same time and a credit card was given to secure the deposit on both rooms, only 1 room deposit was charged. Our second room went back into inventory and now the entire resort is sold out. I check daily to try to find a room but no luck in the last week. Any advice? Is there a discussion thread that I can check for people cancelling their reservations? If I exlain the situation to Disney, will they help me find a room?

If it was me I would call the resort directly, NOT the reservation line and explain it all to them. It seems to me that they should believe that you booked 2 room only reservations because you can show them that you have 2 package reservations starting the next day. I really think that if you handle it graciously, they will really try to help you. If you get someone who doesn't try to help you, hang up and call back and talk to someone else. I don't know the direct number but someone here does...maybe Andre has listed it at the beginning of the thread? He's on vacation right now but maybe someone else can help with that.
