Hi everyone! I'm on the boat to DTD right now and have been feeling much better. My kids and I met up with Andre at the River Roost. Had a lovely chat and was glad to get together. We have 5 more days to our trip . I hope we have no more prolonged rain!

You met him......I am so envious!!!!!!!!! Tell us everything. Is he everything we dreamed he would be and more.

Yay!! Have a wonderful, magical time! You are doing the right thing by studying the Disboards like you are! The very best way to have a wonderful trip to Disney is to be informed and prepared and it sounds like you are doing just that! Just a small bit of advice....you are gonna want to run like crazy to get everything in but be careful that you go slow enough to enjoy it! You can always go back! And this advice is coming from someone who likes to go, go, go! My family though, does not always agree with me.

I am so jealous....you gotta love the accent. He has done so much to promote POR. Not one set of my friends has ever wanted to stay anywhere else after seeing his website. He and Yee-hah Bob are the best stewards for the resort.

On the flip side, so Andre, what do you think of our obsession with Will and Kate.

Great advice! It's my first time staying on site, going to Epcot and animal kingdom, and first time with my own kids and husband (their first times ever!) My MIL is also coming to help with the kids and it is her first time too...so basically I am the only one who has been before. My oldest will turn 5 while we are there also. I am so glad we chose POR, it really seem like it will be a great fit for us. I'm just crazy excited and I'm so glad I'm not the only adult who gets this way.

We are already planning to go back in a few years with our other son turns 5. LOL

I'm trying to convince hubby that we need to go every year one of the kids turns a multiple of 5. We went for the oldest's fifth and now the youngest's fifth birthday trip is next month I'm mentally planning their respective 10th birthday trips. I'm also thinking I should have a couple more kids so I can plan more 5th, 10th and 15th birthday trips.

We are doing that, we are all girls and all family so it works. We stayed last time in one room at the POLY and it wored out fine. We just time the bathroom in the morning.

We had a blast on our last trip, so we are doing Girls Trip # 2

We are heading straight to the magic kingdom in the morning before we checkin at the por in the afternoon. I know we will have to pay for parking upfront but is there a way to get that refunded since we are actually staying onsite this day? Can't wait till tomorrow!

Thanks! It'll be my parents, boyfriend, and I! I get along with my parents...so I don't really see us having issues!

I was really hoping to stay at POR on our Feb 2013 trip but when we called last week the only moderate they said that was available with military discounted rooms was CSR. The CM said the others already had the military discounted rooms booked up. I'm really trying hard to get excited about staying at CSR but I just had my heart set on POR. The worst part, no double sinks. I can't believe they booked up the military discounted rooms so fast. I've been told to keep trying to see if anything becomes available but wonder how likely that really is.

So glad it worked out. They (and pretty much all other customer service entities world wide) rely on people believing their first answer, or being too intimidated to pursue it further.
The part about no refund is absolutely unacceptable. Glad you kept asking!
Makes you wonder WHOSE room they gave you??? Do they set aside a tiny portion of rooms for "emergencies"?
Anyway, you'll have to update us on how it all worked out. If you show up and they DON'T give you your preferred room, tell them the whole story and "offer" to become their bff and shadow until it is resolved.

Yes, it took 4 people to get the final result. I'm glad I persisted. I certainly hope no one was bumped because of their mistake, but I was told that Guest Services holds 1-2 rooms for such circumstances. I'll let you know how this turns out. I'm still nervous about arrival, but I'm armed with our correct documentation now, so fingers crossed!

I just called Disney reservations again to check availability and was able to switch from CSR to POR. I'm so excited to be going back.
