Three days out!!! I'm so excited! Getting ready to fax my building request over to the resort tomorrow...I seem to remember many pages back someone posting a sample fax they sent over. I know it's a long shot but does anyone remember the post or page number? :confused3

Nevermind...I found it! #1901 if anyone else is looking!!

Thanks for the helpful advice. I'm sick over this mistake. When I called Disney last week, the CM was able to pull up the "expired", room only reservation. I have the reservation numbers for all 4 reservations and there is a notation on the reservation to link them and requesting adjoining rooms and not to switch rooms so I think those facts will also help.

Disney should fix it since it was their mistake that they didn't enter your CC info on one of the reservations. "Be polite. You attract more bees with honey than vinegar." Says my mom. Not that you want to attract bees. But you do want Disney to help you out. :lmao:

And like someone else said, if one person can't help you, keep calling back until you get the CM that is willing to go the extra mile or is a little more knowledgeable and can help you. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Our first trip to POR and we are excited. We will be in AB section since there are 5 of us. We have stayed at CBR several times and love Jamaica section. Can anyone give me an idea about walking distances to bus stops or mian building at POR compared to CBR.We have a garden view booked so not prefered and want to request a spcific building. Most important to us would be bus stop, quiet pool and main building.

Thanks for your help, we are so excited to spend 14 nights at POR for the holidays.

8 days out and praying for no hurricanes/tropical storms/tropical depressions/excessive rain......I'm getting nervous!

I still find that to be a bit weird. Not everyone has an ipod :confused3

I have been in many hotels that have the iHome as the alarm clock/radio/iPod charger. It isn't only an iPod charger so if you don't have one, you can still use the radio and alarm clock features.

Ditto. I've done a lot of traveling this summer with my kids and even the lower-end hotels had the iHomes. Also, I've noticed while traveling for business the last two-ish years, many hotels either offer the service or have the iHome alarm clocks available.

As Disney is considered to have "higher-end" resort hotels, I am kind of shocked they haven't moved all the alarm clocks over to that kind of technology, iHome or not.

IPod or IPhone...not everyone has but a lot do...there are so many clock radios on market that serve as docking station so you can play your music and/or charge your apple device. I see it in about 80% of the hotels I stay in and I stay in about 15 different hotel locations in a year (for work).

How many outlets do they provide at the desk/table for your electronic devices? I'll have iPads, batter chargers, blackberry, and iPhones...so all in all I think I will need to charge six devices a night.

We stayed in POR Alligator Bayou Building 14 (preferred building) back in January -- it was a 2 minute walk to the Main Building. I think the farthest walk at Alligator Bayou was less than 10 minutes from the Main Building. The Mansions are probably a 10-12 minute walk to Main Building and if I rememeber correctly, there are 4 bus stops, so there is very little walking for them.

Weird question here. We've got a garden view room booked from 11/9-11/12. Originally when I booked we were staying 11/9-11/18 and I requested building 16 or 17. Now we've changed plans and are moving to a Lion King suite @ AoA from 11/12-11/18. So really I'm not fussy on where our room is for the 3 nights we're at POR and think it might be more fun to be further in to give us a chance to explore the resort more since we're there for less time. Would it be wacky for me to call and remove my request or do I just leave it and tell them at check in it doesn't matter to us where we are?

Although we stayed at POR, the highlight of my morning was walking over to POFQ for my morning coffee and beignets. Since I was there with my teenage nieces, I was up much earlier than them and enjoyed the walk as well as exploring the scenery. I'm a regular walker, and for me it was no more than a 20 minute walk -- I suspect about 1.25 miles. Worth it as although they are related resorts, they are so different. And, POFQ is the only place for beignets!

Exactly what I wanted to hear!! Thank you so much. We kind of wanted to be a little further away but didn't want to have to walk forever. We love to just get lost in our resort an not see parking lots and so on

I get that but I still think it's weird. I've never stayed at a hotel that provided that. I guess I'm one of the few people who don't drag along every gadget (6 computers, an mp3 player, 2 smart phones, a touchpad, a kindle, a nintendo DS etc) I own on a vacation...

The what do you do? Rest and relax? WEIRD ;)
