I booked a Standard room and requested Bldg 5 or Bldg 2....got 5306....I thought we would end up on the back side, but we were close to the pool. The location was GREAT! The only negative is that it was an "accessible" room, so only had 1 sink, and it was inside the main bathroom.

I got mine at Walmart and the Dollar Store, saw some at Walgreen's today too.

Thanks! I have looked at target and cvs without luck, but I'm going to hit up dollar tree and walmart today.

Just back! We loved POFQ!!!!

We were in building 5 and I think it was the perfect location. The rooms, pool, grounds, and boat service were all fantastic. My DS ate ribs in the food court every time he had the chance. He loved the campfire and movies. The pool slide was a hit! I heard it was slow, but it is fast enough to be fun but doesn't dunk you under at the end. We loved the boat service and used it frequently. DS did the Bayou Pirate Cruise and loved it!

This is my favorite resort now,

How old do you have to be to do the Bayou Pirate Cruise? We'll be at POFQ in early Feb with my 3 y/o grandson.

I just got back from CSR this past Sunday (12/04/11) and booked three bounceback deals while I was down there. I already had POFQ booked under the AP discount for the Feb trip, but booked CSR for May 5th-12th, POFQ for Sept 1st-8th, and POFQ again for Oct 27th-Nov 3rd. I wanted POFQ for the May trip but it wasn't available under the bounceback deal for those dates, so had to switch to CSR. I wanted CSR for the last week of August but neither CSR nor POFQ were available for my dates, so I had to move the trip back a week and go with POFQ. The Oct/Nov trip I wanted POFQ, but wanted it a week earlier. All of my preferred dates weren't available under the bounceback, so I had to move that trip back a week too.:rotfl:

I booked a standard room for all three POFQ trips and made the same requests: first floor, buildings 2 or 5. Are there any standard rooms in those buildings?

I believe they run if it's raining, but for obvious safety reasons they will suspend service if there's any lightning at all. There's a canopy to protect passengers from the sun and rain, but the sides are open so if there's any wind, you'll probably get wet. ;)

in the rain when it was light.

And, as mentioned above, they shut down the boats when lightening is in the area. We rode the boat to DTD instead of driving this past trip and the lightening started. Getting back to POFQ was a mess.

Do the boats run to DTD if it is raining? How is it to take the boats in that kind of weather? Thanks!

They run, it was raining at night while I was there. It's a little drippy if you sit by the railings but not so bad if you sit towards the middle. We weren't crowded when I rode so everyone just scooted in. If you're on the back row it's a little damp.

Now it was a slow steady drizzle/rain and the boats are open. If you had any sort of wind you might have to deal with blowing rain. I don't know if they can close the boats or not, but I never saw any type of window coverings.

We are back from our first stay at POFQ, but not our first Disney stay. I have started my TR. It begins on page 103, post 1535 http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2679280&page=103

There were a few cm mixups there that put a bit of a damper on the trip, but other than those we loved the grounds, the refurbished rooms, the quaintness of the resort, and our room location.

Love this thread now that I've found it. (Thanks ChipNDale! :grouphug: )

When I was reading last night, I had a page open that showed a map of POFQ showing the designated smoking areas. I can't find it now. I would like to take that into consideration when I call back to make a room request. Does anyone know where it can be found? Please and thank you!

Here at POFQ now.

free Wi-Fi is awesome! Great for people like me who can't help but take a "working" vacation...

Wifi confirmed... on my tablet right now. We checked in on Thurs and got ZERO info.. spouse has to work through vaca so we used the LAN .. will be questioning the bill if we get hit for $10 per day..

If you used the plug-in HSIA connection then I assume that will still be charged at $9.95 per day, but I don't know for sure as this is all new territory at the moment. Did you have to click on the 'Accept' button to agree to the connection/charges?

Glad you have free wifi now!! When I was staying at CSR the weekend they went live on the wifi there was nothing but word of mouth to advertise about it.

A couple days later, a flyer showed up on our desk with info about it. In fact, there were two flyers. A triangular shaped one about the $9.95 internet through the phone line and the free wifi.
