I did online check in today! Getting there!

We had our first stay at POFQ a couple of months ago in August and we had a ball! Room location was perfect, close to the pool and food court. DS loved the waterslide it was just right for him. The room was clean and everyone was so friendly. Enjoy your trip!!

Thank you!! So glad to hear your first stay at POFQ was such a success! What building were you in?

Andre, is the December Activity schedule posted yet?

Not got postable PDFs yet, but here's a JPEG for December to be going on with...

31 Days till our surprise trip for the kids to the World and POFQ! :woohoo:

There is a little kink in our plans. DH got word that he is not going to be able to take vacation that week because he has a last minute business trip to Hong Kong that he can't get out of now. :sad2:
Well he doesn't want me to cancel so I'm still taking the kids and my Dad but now I've invited my Mom as well to take DH's spot.
So the problem is?!? My parents have been divorced for 25 years!!! :scared1::scared1: This will be the first time that they have spent more than a day together in that many years. Oh....eem...gee! What am I getting myself into?! Am I crazy?:eek:

We shall see!

LOL that's funny. I've been divorced for 31 years, but we had an amicable divorce. As long as they don't hate each other and want to have fun with the grandkids it should be fun.

It was amicable and they get along fine when they see each other over the holidays. Plus it's not like they are sleeping in the same bed or even the same room and I've warned both of them that they have to be nice and if they can't be then they can go back to the room. lol
My mom is more of a "lets see how much we can get done in a day" and for 62 she's still running marathons while my dad is more of a "go with the flow and take it easy pace" but at 72 he's still got a nice spring in his step. We'll see if that causes any butting of the heads.

I just need to keep telling myself to breathe, relax and have a great vacation.

Disneymamato4, that's pretty funny - good luck and hope you have a great trip! Please report back!

POFQ Fans, I have a question about bus transportation. We always use Disney transportation at WDW (the only exception is a resort to resort cab for an ADR.) But for our short POFQ stay, we'll have a car. It looks like it's just a 3-minute drive from POFQ to the Epcot parking lot, while the Disney bus would need to make multiple stops at POR before going to Epcot. Is that right? Does anyone drive?

It is a very short drive but just to let you know, we have stayed at POFQ twice and have only had the bus go through POR once or twice.

We drive every where. Epcot is very close! But you need to add time to wait to show your resort parking tag to park, park, and either walk in or take a tram; which you wouldn't have to do with the bus transportation.

I prefer driving, no lines or standing room only at the end of the day, just the trek to the car.

According to the 2012 Unofficial Guide, average time from POFQ to EPCOT is 19 minutes by car, 24 minutes by bus. These are average times, not guarantees. YMMV

On our trip last month the only time we shared the bus was during non-peak hours. When we went to a park in the morning we didn't go to POR

No way is it a 19 minute drive from POFQ to Epcot. From exiting the security gate at POFQ to driving into the EPCOT entranceway is exactly 2.25 miles. You'd have to drive very slowly to make that take 19 minutes.

Or go way out of the way past the Boardwalk to get there. Years ago we stayed at POR and our driver took us that scenic route. We stopped using resort buses after that.

Even to MK they've gone round about ways, when all they have to do is go past the new doggie care center, turn left at the golf course passing Fort Wilderness and there you are at the TTC and MK resorts.

I agree. Also, I've never experienced a 24 minute bus ride from POFQ to Epcot, either. More like 10-15 minutes.

What is the "Changing of the Guard" as listing in the monthly activity sheet. Is it simular to the Flag retreat at MK

do not see it in December's schedule but see it in other months.
