During Spring Break, is there any chance at all of getting into Scat Cat to see Elliott Dyson if we can't get there until after it starts (around 9 or 9:30)? Is this a very popular entertainment venue? (I know I've seen people talk about how you have to get to Jellyrolls right as it opens or else you can't get in, have no idea about Scat Cat. Trying to figure out how to end a "date night" with DH after a dinner at Yachtsman sans kids.)

DH and I got back Sunday from a 7 night stay at POFQ! We were in room 1212, building 1. We did not make any room request. At first we were disappointed in the location, but it quickly grew on us and was fine. My biggest disappointment in POFQ was they did not have 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee! (no flames please) I discovered it after I had bought my refillable cup. DH suggested we look in the gift shop for 1/2 and 1/2 and I could put it in the mug before going to get coffee in the morning, but they did not have it. They did give me milk (in a small plastic container with a lid) every morning, but it wasn't the same. I know they had 1/2 and 1/2 on our last visit so I never thought to look before I bought the mug.

I did speak to a manager about it and he said, "they can't keep it at the right temperature when it sits out and got "dinged" by the food inspectors." I suggested they put it in the little cooler with the butter and lemons. He said they couldn't do that. :confused3 I know I wasn't the only one that was unhappy about them not having 1/2 and 1/2. I was sitting beside a woman that spoke to the manager about it also and saw alot of people with the milk in the plastic container. The manager did admit some of the other resorts had 1/2 and 1/2!

DH and I finally tried the beignets that everyone talks about and weren't very impressed at all. I thought they tasted like cardboard with powdered sugar on, but that was me. DH was disappointed, he thought they would be more like a donut and he LOVES donuts! LOL

Bus service was good, maybe a 15 min. wait a time or two. Only had to stand coming home from a park (don't remember which one) one night.

Spent a good bit of time at the pool and enjoyed it even with all the "love bugs" around!

We saw two DIS board members that had decorated windows, but did not see them! I did see and get to say a quick hello to a DIS bride!

Is there a map of specific room categories in each building? For example, what is considered a standard vs water view. Also is there a map where the HA rooms w/roll off showers are located in each building?

Thanks.

Regarding the coffee-is there 1/2 % 1/2 packets of some sort in the rooms with the coffee maker? (Maybe I need to add some non-perishable ones to my packing list...)

its the powder creamer, I always pack my non-perishables from home along with my splenda packets!

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, he actually plays in a small open area just in front of the main Scat Cat's lounge, right next to the main lobby. You can even watch him from the lobby if you like, but he'd have his back to you. :)

Nothing like that has ever been released to the public, no. And since you can't request specific room numbers anyway, it probably wouldn't be a lot of use to you. Better to request what kind of room you want, rather an actual room number.

Have I understood this right, are you saying they no longer provide liquid milk at the drink fountain but only powdered milk?

Do you know if they still do tea bags?

No it's not powdered, they do have the liquid chemicals! That's what I call it. I like real 1/2 & 1/2 in my coffee.

Yes, I did see tea bags.

Do they have "coffee creamer" for coffee at the drink station? I prefer 1/2 & 1/2 or cream too, but for just the 2 days we will be there, I'd use creamer.

Yes, they do have "coffee creamer." It's not flavored like French Vanilla or Hazelnut. I call it liquid chemicals and to me, it's like colored water...YUCK.

Hope that helps!

We have a garden view room booked for our February 2012 stay at POFQ. I have Andrew's map that shows the resort layout. Can anyone tell me what is the view between building 5 and building 6? On the map there is a rectangular image with a block with 7 holes at the top with sort of an open frame below. I'm wondering what that stands for. My goal is to request a quiet but centrally located spot. Yes, I know that requests are merely requests but in our last 3 trips we have gotten what we requested.

Happy MNSSHP to all of you heading to WDW for those dates.

It's a nice lawn area with a fountain at one end. They hold the night-time outdoor movie screenings there.

We've seen families here letting their kids blow off some energy. It's a great area to let the little ones run around in. Also saw a large group playing tag football here last November.

During the end of March what time could I expect the movies to play? Also, do you need to BYOB (bring your own blanket) or is there some type of seating provided?

Sydnerella's Mama

So looking forward to first visit to POFQ!!:yay:

MOvies start around 8:30. There are a couple of benches but most people sit on the grass, so I would suggest bringing something to sit on.

As for the coffee, it is so bad to me that it doesn't matter what creamer I put it it, it will taste awful no matter what.

When we saw the movies in August, the cast member brought pool towels to sit on and we used those.

We have requested building 6 for our standard room reservation in November.
Wondering now if it might be better to be placed in one of the rooms that does not overlook the courtyard movie area. Really wanted quiet and would like views of trees if we can get it. Not sure what to put on the request for this though?
What do you guys think? We are going to be there for two weeks which would be about 5 movie nights.

Thanks
