Apologies if this is "Off topic" - but how do you find out which days the
Movies are playing and what movies they are please ?

(I don't mean in advance necessarily - just wondered if the information is posted somewhere in the resort).

I can't believe we stayed there for 3 weeks last year and completely missed this !!

Thanks

Sorry - I've just found the answer to my question in a link in post 2489

It started in this summer of this year. Movies are on Wed, Fri and Sat at 8:30.
Not sure if when or where they post what movies are going to be played.

Movies are now daily at both POR and POFQ, currently at 8.30pm but I'm guessing that might get a bit earlier as the winter evenings set in. You'll get an information sheet in your welcome pack, plus it's posted in the lobby and also will hopefully be on www.portorleans.org/recreation.php as soon as it's publicly available.

I'm finding conflicting information all over the place so I'm coming here to get a final answer. I want to watch Wishes from the TTC. Is there transportation back to POFQ from the TTC? (That would be much simpler than taking the monorail to Epcot or MK and getting caught up in the crowds waiting for the bus there.)

Firstly... why? :) The Poly beach would be a much nicer place to watch Wishes from if you don't want to be in the park, and it's only a very short walk from the TTC.

And secondly, no there's no transport directly to the Port Orleans resorts from the TTC I'm afraid, you'd need to get the monorail back to either the MK or Epcot and get a bus from there. Or even get a bus from the Poly to Downtown Disney, and then a boat or bus back to Port Orleans from DTD.

Why? Because of this article: http://blog.touringplans.com/2011/09/16/best-magic-kingdom-fireworks-viewing-locations/

Ok, that's what I thought about getting back from TTC. I think at one time there might have been resort buses from there because I've found that mentioned but I seem to recall in the back of my mind that buses were discontinued a few years ago. Thanks Andre!

My family and I will be staying at POFQ for the first time this January! We are very excited! We have booked connecting rooms (or requested them rather) with a standard view to save dollars.

I know from reading here that POFQ is all pretty close to the buses and main building. So I am not too worried about distance. I have previously stayed in standard view rooms at POP, POR and CSR. The room walk was fine. All that being said....my question is what building(s) should I request?

My primary goal would be not facing a parking lot or service area. Should I request 2, 5 or 6? Anyone here fall into a riverview room just by luck? Maybe I should just request one of those three because they are nowhere near a parking lot. Does anyone have experience that they can share?

We will have refillable mugs and no car, so its all buses for us. So maybe 5? 6? So confused.

The funny part is I know once I get there I don't care much! I just like to do all my planning in advance and then go into auto-pilot. My trip won't be ruined if we get building 7 with the enchanted parking lot view!:rotfl:

Also we have some severe allergies, does anyone have experience with requesting a allergy cleaning?

Thanks for your help!

:thumbsup2 I read that article too and that is our plan for January. We will have a car though making our exit after Wishes a bit easier. Is there a bus from the TTC to Downtown Disney?

No. DTD buses only go to/from the resorts. This is to avoid people parking for free at DTD and then hopping a bus to a park.

Hello,

For our March 2012 trip DD5 princess: has an 8:00AM BBB appt in MK and the park opens at 9AM that day.

To arrive at MK on-time/early for the appt what time should we plan to be at the POFQ bus stop and what time does it typically pick up for MK before park open - 7AM sharp? before? after? every 30 min?

Thanks,
Sydnerella's Mama

We were in room 3119, building 3 just a week ago and it was a standard view. Our view was of the "street" and the building across the way. We loved this room because where it was located, no one really needed to walk by our room to get to theirs. I put street in quotations because it isn't a real street with cars going by, just the occassional CM on a golf cart.

For anyhting 8 am early - I would be at the bus stop between 6:30 am to 6:45 am - so not to miss the 1st bus.

I would ask the front desk the night before about bus stop arrival times.

Have fun at BBB !

We were able to get on the bus at 7:15 AM for HS for a rope drop at 8AM. We were there in plenty of time for rope drop and were at the front.

My first stay at POFQ was suppose to be a standard room. Well, when I found my room in building 6, I was so thrilled to be in a corner room with extra window, and facing the river :yay: When I picked up my packet, the CM never mentioned the upgrade.

I'm going back the end of Oct......hoping :dance3:

I was thinking about shipping a small box of non-perishable snacks for the kids to POFQ before our trip instead of paying to check a bag. When should I send it from Nashville if our check in date is 10/26? How do I address it? Anything else I should know?

Make sure you have your name like it is on the reservation & your resv # on the box/label.

They will hold it for you in guest services.... would also put tracking on it.

I'd also suggest putting arrival date on the package. That helps them sort out the packages (or at least that's what I've been told!)

Our MVMCP tickets just arrived today... only 78 days to go!! :cool1: so excited!!
