Pork roast question

How do you know when it's done? I never made one before. It's been in the crockpot on HIGH for 7 hours. It's falling apart, but sort of pink yet. Is that normal? Don't laugh, I never made one before. Pink meat, to me = raw food. :confused3

Oh and why is it so salty? :confused3 I guess the sauerkraut maybe?

Maybe I should've made hot dogs. :rotfl:
 
I'd say its done...but heck...leave it on another hour or so. I make mine in the crockpot with a toch of Hawaiian sea salt and liquid smoke....yummy!
 
done pork is pink. If it's been cooking that long and falling apart it's done.
 
If it's falling apart it's done. If it's a roast rather than a loin some of it is dark meat which looks pinkish. I don't know about the salty issue. I guess it depends what you've put in the pot with the roast.
