POR vs OKW

I am trying to decide between POR 2 rooms for about $4000 or OKW 2 bedroom villa for about $5000. This is for 9 people total. We prefer deluxes but our budget is a little strained this time around. We could probably get 3 value rooms for even cheaper but I really don't care for the values.

Wondering what you smart people on the DIS think about which will be the overall better value? With OKW we would have a kitchen so I could order/bring groceries and save some money there. Would it be $1000 worth though?

With POR we would save money but lose essentially an extra room/kitchen.

What other pros/cons should I consider?

I guess it just depends on what amenities you want while you are there. It was nice last time we stayed at OKW and had a kitchen area. It makes things easier with kids too. Both resorts are nice though.

The 2 BR OKW Villa is HUGE!! We stayed there when we were 6 and we loved it.
Having the kitchen allows you to have at least breakfast, drinks and snacks in your Villa which will definitely save you money. Depending on your choice, you can do additional cooking, as well.
Having the washer & dryer also allows us to pack less.
I would definitely go with the 2 BR OKW Villa with 9

I vote OKW, you will have so much more space! I love POR as much as the next girl, but 9 people in two moderate rooms would be very tight. OKW is awesome, and the kitchen is super convenient. I was apprehensive about staying there at first, now after 3 stays in a 2BR, it's difficult to go back to standard hotel rooms.

We have stayed in the 2 bedrooms at BLT and AKL so I know we love having the 2 bedroom. Feels so much more spacious and relaxing.

I was just looking at Orbitz and saw I could get 3 rooms at pop for $2700 total. So now I am really second guessing. We are a deluxe resort type of family, but are trying to go on a value budget. We are spoiled and we know it.

Did I mention we leave next Tuesday? I need to make some decisions quick!

For me the extra money for OKW is really worth it the longer you stay .So say 7 days and under POR.

Go with what money you need to spend. Once the vacation is over with you need to be at peace with how much you spent.

NOW IN SAYING THAT... We have also stayed in values in the past and the last 2 times we got very little to no sleep because of the noise level (outside, pool and in the rooms beside us and above us). Because of this I don't know that we will ever stay value again.

I don't want to complicate things but it is something to take in consideration.
I have got to have my sleep - well that and coffee.
