We reguested a trundle so we know roughly where we will be located. How long does it take to walk to dining or bus stops from that area??

And someone in another thread mentioned about requesting a room/location. How do you go about doing that since we already booked? And where would you rec. that be??

Trundle beds are in the AB section of the resort, but are by request, unfortunately not guaranteed.

You could call (or fax) the resort 3/4 days before arrival and ask about your requests again. I have found them to be very nice.

Phone 407-934-6000, Fax 407-934-5777.

Buildings 14 and 15 are closest to food court and 1st bus stop - buildings 18 (former smoking building) and 27 are a nice, but short, walk along the river to the food court.

From www.allearsnet.com
"In Alligator Bayou, buildings 14, 15 and 18 are closest to the resort center and are a short distance from a "quiet" pool. No room is more than a 4 minute walk from a bus stop [see below]. The main themed swimming area, Ol' Man Island, is located in the middle of the Resort. The closest buildings are Magnolia Terrace in Magnolia Bend and lodges 27 and 38 in Alligator Bayou. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time on Ol' Man Island, you are probably better off requesting a room closer to the Resort center/food court."

Have a wonderful trip!! :)

Won't OP get a trundle because she has 3 kids? If you have 5 I would think they would make sure you got one, or where would you put that extra sleeper?

I would think so too, but have read posts on the DIS from families who wound up in the Mansions - they have all said not to absolutely assume it will be an AB room. Sad.

Do think the CM's do their best though! :)

Well honestly I don't care as long as I am there!:cool1: But I was told only the AB rooms have the trundle.:confused3

That's true, it is AB rooms that have a trundle bed, but it has happened that a family of 5 was put in a Mansion room - those rooms can have a rollaway set up by request. :)

You'll probably get AB, but there have been many posts on the DIS from families who expected AB because of having 3 small children, but were assigned to a Mansion - maybe depends on how full the resort is at the time.

Fingers crossed!! :)

I WISH I had noted the room we had in AB last year. I bet my dh would remember, I'll have to ask him.

On first arriving I thought it was quite a walk to the room after traveling all day but was pleasantly surprised the next day when we got our bearings around us.

It took us about 5 minutes to walk to the dining area, equal or less time to walk to the main pool area and we had a bus stop right around the corner (Which we didn't figure out until a couple days n  )

Have a Wonderful stay!:wizard:

We were in building 15 last week. Great location!! 14 would be good, too. Because it was such a hot walk to Ol' Man Island, we ended up using the "quiet" pool near our building far more than the main pool. The South Depot (main stop) is just a short walk across the parking lot. Very close.

We were in Building 34 (room 3435)---while that is quite a walk to the main building we had a bus stop (west Depot) only a small path away from our building and we had a trundle bed. At first I was a tad upset we were put so far (EVERY resort I am always pretty much very far from the main building) but by day 2 we were fine and it worked out well. Pretty close to a quiet pool also (the main pool was always PACKED) so I didn't mind.
