Which would you chose for a family who's favorite moderate is CSR?

The next potential trip will be myself and my dd's 10 and 12 and for financial reasons it has to be a moderate maybe a value. We are WDW vets and visit at least once a year. I was just going to book a value because for our trip (Easter week, yikes!) the moderates are running in the low 200's, then I saw that POR and POFQ are in the 150 range and that fits our budget.

So - we love CSR, like CBR and have only stayed at POR way back when it was Dixie Landings and didn't care for it. The main reason we didn't care for it was that our dd's were very young, IIRC 2 and 4 and it was a hike to the food court and bus stop making it kind of a stressful trip. Now with the ages of the kids the issues we had are probably non-issues but the memory lingers. My dd's love a pool slide so that is a perk as well as the boat to DTD.

It looks like one of the PO's will be a great choice for this trip so I am looking for pro's and con's please. Then I can figure out if they apply to us and maybe decide :confused3 . Right now I am leaning toward POFQ for something new but my dd's occasionally have a tough time sleeping together so the trundle is a slight draw.

So - please post your likes and dislikes for me :cool1:

Thanks in Advance,
TJ

We like POFQ because it is much more compact than POR. THe pool has the Dragon Slide. The bus stop and food court are very convieniently located. No room is too far from them. When I was there in August POFQ and POR were not sharing buses although I think they sometimes do. I have heard that when they share POFQ is the first stop, so you are more likely to get a seat in the AM and don't have to wait as long to get off in the evening. :thumbsup2

I have only stayed at POR, but I have visited and want to stay at POFQ next time. More compact, love the theming, pool is neat. I think the kids would like it more. I loved POR, but I really want to to try POFQ next time.

That's a tough question. I guess POFQ since it's smaller and will give you a different perspective on resorts. Keep an eye out for a CSR discount too.

POFQ hands down!!! It's compact size is SUCH a blessing after long days in the parks! The buses are great b/c POFQ is first to be picked up and first to be dropped off. I don't know about all the time, but when I was there in August POFQ had it's own MK bus. It was great!!! You can use all the facilities at POR but you don't have to do nearly as much walking. It's a fabulous little resort.

They took such good care of my DH and me when our cruise plans were disrupted b/c of hurrican ernesto. We were supposed to stay at WL for the first five days of our honeymoon and then off to St.Maarten for 10 days...when that got canceled and we decided to stay at WDW, there were no other rooms at WL for more than a couple of days at a time. After calling around we found that only POFQ could accommodate us for 10 days. DH was upset b/c he wanted our honeymoon to be...well, deluxe...but we were so pleasantly surprised!! They were fantastic!!! And honestly the room size was not that much different than WL...we didn't use the concierge much, so we were not at all bothered.

We LOVE POFQ!! You won't be disappointed!! :thumbsup2

I've stayed at both, and think that POFQ is the best!! Being smaller is really nice, not a long walk to the food court, pool, bus stop. I also really liked the themeing it was amazing! We'll be staying here whenever we do mods for now on. I think the only issue we had was that the buses would sometimes also go to POR after picking us up.

Another vote for POFQ. We loved the smaller feel of the resort, and the pool was never really packed with people. Also, the bus stop and food court are a close walk. And, I believe they pick up at POFQ first on the busses, so we never had a problem getting a seat. Also loved the food court and theming.

Thanks everyone, I think I am going to go ahead and book POFQ it looks lovely and I will feel as if we are trying something new!

With the ages of your kids now, I would choose POR. The walk was less than 10 minutes to everything. We were at the main pool in less than 5 minutes, bus stop less than 5 minutes, and quiet pool was right next to our building. We stayed at Magnolia Terrace. I took my kids (8 and 6 at the time) to POFQ to swim. They hated it. Thought the pool slide was waaay too tame. They wanted to go back to POR in less than 15 minutes. I would say with smaller kids POFQ is ideal, but with older kids, they seem to like POR better.

POFQ definitely gets my vote!!! We love this resort. The atmosphere
is so laid back. We will be there the 2nd week in March. :moped:
