POR for 5 adults?

I have read that it is possible to sleep 5 people in the Alligator Bayou section of POR, since there is a trundle bed. I've also read that the trundle bed is really only suitable for children 9 or under.

My question is, do you think it's possible/even allowed for 5 adults to stay in one of these rooms? The reason I ask is because it's the cheapest option for 5 adults on-site (even cheaper than the values!) Plus, if we go during free dining, we will also save money on not having to upgrade to the regular dining plan. We don't necessarily need a lot of room, because we will be spending most of our time at the park. The youngest adult in our group is 19, and she doesn't mind sleeping on the floor.

Thoughts??

think there is a $25 per night per adult over 2 adults......dont think id try 5 adults. Trundle isnt gonna work for an adult at all.. some have taken air mattress for the floor for extra person. Hopefully all very friendly cause if all 5 in room, you will be hard pressed to move about. Mornings and showers will be another....

we do 4 adults in WL room and thats about all id want. POR rooms are a wee bit smaller.

might allow 5 people but not 5 ADULTS. might wanna check that.

i dont know if they'd allow it, but i'm certain i wouldn't try it. Ever. we had 3 adults (me, my sister, and my fiance) in a POR room last September, and it was tight and uncomfortable, and mid-way through the trip, i was about ready to pitch my sister into the river, and my fiance probably wanted to do the same to me and my sister. There's no way anyone could pay me to sleep in one of those tiny little rooms with 5 adults. it's also no longer a trundle bed once the refurbs are complete - it's a murphy bed that pulls down from the TV stand.

My sister, fiance and I shared a room at the poly last year, and we had no such issues. I never felt like we were stepping all over each other or got frustrated with the lack of space at all. night and day difference. The poly is one of the deluxes where you can have 5 adults in the room, as it has a daybed.

One thing to consider about 2 rooms at a value is the 2nd bathroom, which is handy when you have multiple bodies competing for the same space.

If money is really tight and it's your only option, good luck and God bless.

You'll pay at least $60 a night more than those guests with only two adults in the room. And your 19 yr old might not fit on the trundle/Murphy bed in POR.

How about the Fort Wilderness Cabins? They sleep 6. I priced one night for 5 adults in early June. Full rack rate w/ tax is $383 per night. I priced 2 standard rooms at All Stars Music (one room for 3 adults and one room for 2 adults). The price for the 2 rooms is $337 so slightly less but if you went during free dining you would not have to upgrade your dining plan if you stayed at the Cabins. Only 1 bathoom there though. I was considering POR for my family of 5 (kids 13, 10 and 8) but would only consider it if free dining were offered. I think that is the only way we would endure the close quarters. We stayed at CSR for 3 nights before my daughter turned 3 and that was a bit tight but we lived. On-line they well not allow you to book 5 adults at POR. They did allow me to input 4 adults and 1 17 year old child. That priced out at $259 per night for early June.

the 19 yr old could fit in the murphy depending on her size. But i wouldn't want to fit 5 adults in any WDW room!! The most I've had at POR is 3 adults, and that was fine.
I'd think about 2 rooms at a value. Esp for bathroom situation.

An adult would not fit on the murphy bed. It's a small pull down bed with a weight limit and it's not nearly as long as a regular twin. I'm hoping people will actually pay attention to the weight limit or those beds will be constantly broken- I've seen them and they're small. Besides, you will not be able to book that room with 5 adults due to the bedding issue and you do have to put in that everyone is an adult for the ddp and adult tix. I'd go for a family suite or even better, two rooms at a value resort to give everyone some space and privacy. I realize it costs more, but that's part of travelling with 5 adults. I remember the days when my kids became Disney adults....ouch.

Thanks everybody for your input! I didn't realize that the rooms at POR were so small. We'll have to look into some other options. The Cabins at FW sound pretty fun, although I'm a little worried about transportation. We usually just use Disney buses throughout the entire vacation, and it seems as though FW is a lot more spread out than the other resorts. I don't want to spend a whole lot of time getting from one place to the other.

Thank you for convincing me NOT to try and squeeze 5 into POR! We would have been miserable, I'm sure!

You're right, without a car the transp. system at FW is a bit hard. You have to take an internal bus to get to a park bus I believe. Many people rent golf carts there.
Would you consider 2 rooms at a value resort?
