Hi everyone. I'm sorry I've been away for a while. The last 2 months have been a nightmare. My entire family has been sick. My daughter has been in the hospital 3 times with pneumonia. On top of that I had to fire 2 people at work & haven't been able to replace them, so I'm picking up the slack. I haven't even had a chance to check my e-mail in over a month. It's been work, hospital, sleep. I just want to say that I'm really, really sorry to julsmom for not answering, but I guess the last time I used my computer was the middle of November. I had my husband sign on to look in my PMs on Dec 6th to get the address to send out my SS gift while I was at the hospital with my daughter. I didn't want to miss mailing it by the Dec. 8th deadline. When I got home the next morning to get ready for work I found a red package on my pillow waiting for me. My husband said it had come the day before. I cried as I opened it, it was perfect. It was as if I had bought it for myself it fit my personality so well. It was the best thing that had happened to me since the beginning of November. Then it was off to work for a 16 hour shift on 2 hours of sleep. I had completely forgotten to sign on that night when I got home. My daughter had got to come home during the day while I was at work, so i spent some time with her before I went to bed. I'm really sorry. My daughter was in the hospital one more time after that, and she's just now well enough to have her birthday party. (Which is today) I've also been planning an anniversary party for my in-laws for Monday. I still haven't checked my e-mail. I came here first. I'm not sure if the person my SS goes to has received it, but she probably has. Her daughter has been very ill too, & she probably hasn't had the time to post either. Thanks again julsmom, I really, really loved it, & it came at just the perfect time. :worship: I'm sorry you haven't gotten anything yet...but, you know, I do have your address now. Hmmmm, :scratchin Well, I have to finish getting the party together, so I'm off again. And just in case anything else goes wrong this month & I don't get a chance to post again for a while... Happy Holidays everyone!! :grouphug:

Stacey - Oh mY! :grouphug: I"m so glad your dd is ok! How scary! Your life sounds like quite the 3 ring the past month or so - I'm sorry! You know I have to say, when the stuff in life gets really really overwhelming...everyone deals with it differently - & that's ok! For me, when my life explodes the first place I come for solice and respite is here....I think there are a few of us like that! After Timmy's accident...she posted here and was able to use us to keep a grip, when Tia's freaked bc her dh is leaving she cries here, when my DH is being a @ss I vent here! BUt what I mean is that everyone handles if differently!!!!! Hopefully life is calming down for you a bit. I hope you have a wonderful holiday with your little girl.

tacey,
I am glad to see you again! I am sorry your life has been nuts, but remember (like Chris said) if you need to vent, you know where to come! Hopefully we will be able to chat soon. If not, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Well I had an interesting day yesterday. DH has been working 60 hour weeks and we are building a house, so life's a little stressful. He got in a fistfight with his brother. NEVER has he done that before. As soon as they started yelling I took DD outside so we missed the whole thing. Then he also got angry because his manager, after they all had been working 60 hour weeks, wrote and said they were failures and will have to work HARDER in the new year. So DH said some things he shouldn't have to some co-workers in his anger and now he's worried he'll get fired. So he's going to quit on Monday and search for a new job. So that means the new house we've put together will be sold, and we'll have to move away. I'm really depressed about the whole thing. Too bad Orlando's not a software mecca.

Hi all,
Well I had a odd day to say the least. I had a 16 hour shift sheduled all on overtime. I started at 10 am, 10:20 dw calls wants to know if i can come home ds is sick with a temp of 104 and vomiting, she needs me to go to the store and pick up some stuff.however i'm at work and its crazy busy.My dad was home and lives 5 minutes away and ran and got everything for her. I explained to my captain to remove me from the shift calender for the 2nd shift at 6pm today cause i was gonna leave after the first shift and go home.It was no problem and for 48$ per hour one of the guys was happy to come in from home and work it.At 3 pm we get a run that turns out to be nothing at all,we have these devices in the rig that when the emergency brake is pressed down and the device button is pressed you can remove the keys of the rig and it will stay running. The dept insist that we do this at every call and "always leave the rig running". Its a huge rig that holds 4 car battiries that has alot of power to output and when off the battiries will die in under 30 minutes flat if they are really good and charged, otherwise maybe you'll have 10minutes of juice with the engine off. Anyway the FDNY wants us to keep all the emergency lights on when on a scene at a call or run so we are more visible and people will slow down, and not slam into us or the rigs, plus if anyone tries to steal it with the keys out of it,once they press the brake pedal without the keys in it, the rig with stall and lock into the park position/gear. Before you even wonder yes, not very often but every once in a while some nut bag with eithier steal a rig or try to steal a rig.The last one i remember was 3 years ago and they found after 1 hour parked and empty. Well these devices will prevent that.

Wondering where i'm going with this huh, so anyway we get this run and it turns out to be in the back yard of a house, were someone has called 911 from a pay phone near by to report a body "human" in nature on fire by the pool in the back yard. Well don't worry cause i knew going there it was a prank,if there was really a human on fire in the back yard, its sunday at 3 pm and everyone is out, trust me there would have been like 10 calls on it.this call only had one call on it.We go and get there and go into the back yard and nothing, there is nothing at all going on.We mark the job/run a prank and get back to the rig and guess what.My vechile keys to the rig go in the ignition but no response.I can't get out of park and can't turn the rig off.Plus when i remove the keys and step on the brake it does not stall and shut off like it should.I am stuck there with this super turbo diesel engine in high idle racing away in park. When this device is turned on the rigs high idle aand sound if they are racing to produce more juice/power for the emergency lights.I call the our chief on his nextel and give him the story and he tells me thats impossible. :confused3 Well sir i'm sitting here in it and its doing that.So long story short the device shorted out, the person who lived in the house that we were in front of was pissed cause we were blocking his driveway and he wanted to pull his car out to go somewhere. I explained and even let him sit in the rig and try to get it into drive or to move at all. Some people really don't understand at all, cause he kept comming up to us and saying he had to leave and when were we gonna get this rig moved.Over and over and over and over i explained that there is nothing more i can do,the rig won't budge. We ended leaving the rig with the FDNY emergency mechanic at the scene and getting a ride back to the fire house with the chief.Last i heard they finally got the rig towed at 7pm. They had to wait for the FDNY flat bed tow truck and actually disassembly the brakes right there in the street, just to get in on the flatbed.Anyway ds was feeling a little better when i got home and i stoped at a local toyrus and picked him up a game that he's been begging for that santa was supposed to bring, but he is sick. The game is called "thrillville" were you build your own amusement park and we played it up 8pm, great game!! He had that i'm too sick to get all excited when i got home and gave it to him,but i still got a hug out of it. :cloud9: He held down a little dinner and went to sleep at 8:30 watching the polar express, his last temp check was 100.6. Most likely gonna keep him home from school and with me tomorrow. So that was it my crazy day, not too crazy but just odd with the rig and all and a real pain in the tush, and now i'm out a brand new rig and will have a old rig tomorrow.

Good Morning everyone!

Well I get a surprise day off! Not in a good way....DD is home sick from school today - she slept from 4pm yesterday till 5:30 am today...so I knew when her alarm went off this morning & she still wasn't up, there were problems! - I think she's just bone dead tired! No fever, just exhausted! So I sent her back upstairs to go to sleep. I'll still go to the gym this morning...but then I'll probably stay home the rest of the day.

Nanu - wow...it sounds like your poor dh has some stuff to work out. Does he really have to leave his job? Couldn't he just apologize for losing his temper? It's a stressful time of year & we all lose our cool sometimes? Is his brother building the house with you? Maybe the stess of work and the house are just too much for him. I'm sorry

MrFDNY - Don't you know how to start your own rig??? :rotfl: Just kidding - what a freak thing to happen! Looks like we'll both be home with sick kiddos today...I of course will fill my time with :laundy: What about you?

Stacey: I am sooo glad your family is okay. Since I hadn't heard from you and it had been a long time, I had all kind of scenarios going in my head! I wish you could have let me know sooner that you had received it. I am glad you like it though. I bought it at disney world and I spent quite a bit of time decided on what would be just right. I had your likes and dislikes with me of course. Spend more time here so we can get to know you!!!

Nanu: I am so sorry. You have all of us, no matter where you are. Everything will be okay and work out. Know that.

Scrappinmom: Sorry DD is sick. Mine was friday. I am glad that maybe you will be HERE more today maybe!

Cat: Where are you?

MrFDNY: What an exciting time!! Hope DS gets better. You are a good dad.

I work in Naperville!

Woodfield?!?! Thats where I almost got my foot squashed, by an SUV racing for a parking spot, in the parking lot right around this time!!! :sad2:

I chose do go to Yorktown - THREE TIMES this weekend. It's 5 minutes from my house... and it's an easier mall to handle. :thumbsup2

I am done shopping. I always wish I could get more for everybody. I think if I bought anything more for DD, DH would freak. That pony castle is so cute though! :rolleyes1
This weekend, we shopped for each other. DD went to a build a bear party, so we shopped. For me, "lovely" perfume and a fierce pair of black boots. :woohoo: DH got some garage propane heater thing.

Cat: Are we going to have a repeat of Friday? I hate being the only one hanging around here.
