Why don't you just go part-time? I think that would satisfy both of your needs.

I thought about getting a cheesy part-time (like one day a week) job in the shoe dept at bergner's, half for the entertainment and half for the discount. I have a bachelor's but I cannot use it right now.

I can only go as low as 30 hours a week as director, I would have to get a new job to go less than that. And then if I take a job as a teacher at another center, I'd make like $7.50 an hour, and it would cost that much almost for childcare. I'm getting a bonus soon and its based on hours worked, so I'm probably going to drop to 30 after that.

The teachers that work for me, the one works 6:30-2 (full time) but her husband gets the kids off in the morning. The other works 9-1, so she's home for early dismissals (except we don't have any). Sometimes on no school days I need them to work, so they need to have a backup, but usually when there are breaks they have off because our enrollment is so low I want to send teachers home.

It couldn't hurt to try...just state your intentions clearly in a cover letter. Some daycares will probably be dieing to have a qualified, competant individual come work for them, so they'd be willing to work with you. SO many of our applicants show up in jeans and chewing gum. That's why I was so willing to work with these degreed teachers.

Okay...this is the funniest thing I read in weeks...our daycare enrollment is kind of low right now, and its mostly in the infant room. I told the staff last night at our meeting to be mindful of their hours and cut back where they can. Anyway, I asked the head teachers to write a paragraph for the newsletter. The infant room teacher gave me this one:

Welcome to the New Year! The infants are hangig snowflakes around the room anticipating the real thing. This month the infants will be making snowmen, snowflakes, and hats with mittens. We will be reading storeis about winter whil sipping milk and keeping warm. Stop by and enjoy a taste of winter.

I did not want to watch the video, but I did. I don't like to see or hear anything that may alter my magical image of disney. So, it looks to me like the boy is seriously really holding onto Tigger's back when tigger goes to turn. If I were standing next to Tigger and he turned like that, my arm would simply fall to the side, not hold on tight. So I think the boy had a good grasp and maybe being he was trying to undo the closure?????

Maybe a stretch, but that is MO. Things happen though too, and I am glad the boy was not hurt.

FINALLY! You saw what I saw! He had hold of him enough to have to hop on one leg and almost lost his balance when Tigger popped him.

AND I saw that interview with the Dad - and he said something about "At first I thought my son had done something to provoke him"

Well, if you have an angel for a kid, you dont "first think he did something to provoke him" My 15 y/o is a pain in the @55 and I wouldnt FIRST think he did something to Tigger. This kid is (my the parents admission of saying that) a punk.

And the dada said - it wasnt until he reviewed the tape, that he came to this conclusion. If your son was hit hard enough to need ER assistance (which he DID go to) it wouldnt take looking at the tape to come to that conclusion.

WHole thing is BS.

Im NOT - cuz I cant TALK about it! So it doesnt feel real!!!

Just on the way to work this morning, I started thinking about it and getting (again) NERVOUS! Since I cant talk about it, I cant verify my choices and make sure Ive covered everything, so it's all on ME! And Im NERVOUS!

I have a myspace too, but I'm having issues with it. I hate the combination of my different social groups. Like one of my employees found myspace, so I had to delete one of my college friends because he was very vulgar which I could deal with, but I didn't want my employees to get the wrong idea.

Our last trip was a surprise for DD. I did it b/c we really decided to go only maybe 30 days before the actual trip date. I figured I could hold onto it that long. For our future trips, I will not keep it a surprise though. Been there, done that. I do like the shared excitement before a trip. But it was so worth it to do it once.

just got home but will try to go to bed early as in NOW... went home with a tooth ache ... I wonder why ??? doing a double tomorrow... 8A to 11P... with a toothache.. am poppin some antibiotics now.. I think this is it my dentist did say the next time I have problem with this tooth it would be root canal My january and February is going to be pretty hectic.. with the tooth the fibroid and the neck OK am mitchin' again sorry guys!!! I am oh so looking forward by April hopefully by then things would have mellowed out.. well as early as March would be even better when I get to see you all at PF Chang... Ok this is it... ouchhhhhhhhh it hurts so bad... talk to you tomorrow nite...

can't wait till the meet! it's been awhile for me since a DIS meet!!!!

Popgirls and guy???????HOw about guy and popgirls,sounds better to me! I mean i sound like a sidekick or something. Anyway i became a 2nd cousin yesterday!!! My cousin had a baby girl! Thats all really had the last 2 days off and the next 2 off. Anyone hear about the whole 'tigger punched me" thing yet,watch the video what a crock!!

UGH don't ask! I ended up meeting with one of my committee chairpeople for the auction for over 2 hours! She's in charge of the basket raffles & I thought she had a handle on it. After I got dressed yesterday she called & asked if I had a "minute" I said sure, I'mon my way to Starbucks...why don't you meet me there.............well I left Starbucks when it was TIME TO pick Casey up from school!!!!!!!!!!

I always wonder if I made the right choice.....I mean life is no where near what I had originally imagined it to be. After finishing undergrad and starting grad school I thought I'd be a working mom, IF I ever had kids. Then when Casey was born I freaked out!!!! I worked full time until she was 3...hating every minute of it. Then worked part time...Then when Patrick died i was like WHOA *** am I doing with my life! I need to stay home! I miss my job sometimes too and even wish sometimes that we didn't pay for those graduate degrees...but oh well.

See i totally agree there, but i also never ever had a chance to get my real job so i don't know what i would have thought. My parents NEVER allowed me to work while in school since they gave us everything and our focus was school, then i did the DIsney WOrld thing, but of course that was an internship so that was okay and then i finished school and just barely started at the Chicago MArriott as a concierge when BOOM i got engaged and soo consumed by planning a destination wedding, that i quit my job since i was travelling to WDW so much (boohoo i know! haha!) and then we got married and i was ready to hit the resume, when BAM Autumm came along and i was hooked so i always wonder if i missed something??? Esp on mornings like this when there is a disaster in the living room and i should be cleaning it during the AM nap and not on the computer! hahah!!
