Welcome home Colleen - can't wait to hear about your trip & see pics! I'm sure you guys had a great time!

I have been so swamped busy lately it's nuts. I DID however manage to snag my CRT and CM ressies for our trip...I have 8:05 CRT on the 20th and the 30th of March, (the girls love to go at the beginning and end of trip), and CM's for breakfast on the 21st. I'm actually glad the rest of dining is down...I'm oh so patiently waiting for Casey's band trip organizer to tell me when they're playing/marching where...so I can plan MY days at the parks...& plan which meals she's going to eat with us...the ones I booked are outside the band trip, so I know she'll be with me.

One of my closest friends lives in Houston, and is STILL without power...it's my friend who's wedding I went to last year, before going to Calif. Anyway, she has 4 kids, and is a ice skating coach...no power means no ice means no work...so it is taking a huge financial chunk out of her life...so THANK you to guys like Sal who are going down there to help...Mich, do you want to give Sal her phone number? If he gets in a bind or needs help her or her DH would help him I'm sure.

Well i did not win, but i did not lose. I ended up leaving with $40 less then i went with and dw ended up leaving with $40 more than she went with. So we broke even and even had a great $30 per person buffet. The steak was to die for.

hahha congrats to you!! We go in january and I have not even begun to start thinking of where to eat! haha!!! Why is this happening?? I usually have everythign planned out a year away?? Dare I say it?? I'm actually looking forward to our Mexico trip again in April...ohhh dear...I need to get into my MAGIC state of mind! Once i'm there, I know Disney will once again become my new obsession!!!

Oh wow that's awful, I can not even imagine what it must be like to be without all that stuff while LIVING there?!! And yes, the number would be great thanks so much! It's always nice to have some extra back up just in case! They are literally meeting him in Louisiana giving him keys to a pick up truck and a GPS system with addresses of all locations he has to go to in LA and then an address over in Texas where he will meet for his next set of instructions to do the same over there. They say it is 20 hour days and he will only be in LA for 2 days and the rest of the time in Tx. He's pretty excited!

My parents however must think that i'm never alone with my kids because they are insisting I spend the time with them! I wouldn't mind except my sis stills lives at home and I can't stand her boyfriend! haha! he's always there and he's just well.....blahhh! hahaha!!

Alright for us it's a slow day of recooping from the weekend! We hit up Sonny Acres and the Cosley Zoo in wheaton, it was really fun!

Yep, I've been to the JellyBelly Factory a ton of times!!! It's a cute little factory tour & some fun photo ops...There are of course a zillion jelly beans to choose from! It's fun, but not an all day kind of thing...a few hours, & a nice lunch would be the max I would guess.

Sal is alright. 20 hour days does not allow me to talk to him much he's so tired Good news is that they have the next crew of volunteers lined up so he may not have to be out there that long especially since his boss needs him back.

How is everyone doing? I'm exhausted! haha! Roman has a stomach bug and keeps throwing up, but no fever.

Autumn and Gabriel won't get out of the sandbox! My dad has a pretty big one out back for them with the attached picnic table and umbrella, so they want lunch outside too! haha!!

I love that my dad works from home! It's like having someone to talk to all day long

That's so sweet - it's a gorgeous day isn't it? I took the dogs (both of them) for a long walk this morning...YIKES they were a tad bit excited and about killed me!

Mich - didn't you say once that you can only use 2 disney gift cards on check in ? Casey's skating team is doing a fundraiser...a Script fundraiser where you buy giftcards and the team gets a % donation from the retailer. LIke if I buy a $50 giftcard from Starbucks, I get the $50 giftcard and the theatre team gets $3, not a lot, but it adds up. It's a great program and the team is able to pay for scenery and some ice fees from it. The website is glscrip.com if you ever need agood quick fundraiser...anyway Disney is one of the vendors, & they have cards in $25, $100 and $1000 increments...I'd love to be able to buy the 1k one, but that's not happening...but I could probably buy a few $100's every month till we go...would I be able to put those on my tab at POP? Did I just make sense? hahahah

Yes fabulous day!!!

Let's see, you can use the card at the resorts now and you can use as many as you would like. They usually say just one but it's because they don't want to run cards the entire time! haha!!

We usually put down a credit card at the desk on check in and then every night we pay off that days balance with a card just so that they don't put it on our card. BUT sometimes we get lazy! haha! They do not charge on the card at the VALUES until you get to 500.00 and once they did do our card and all we had to do was go down there and they reversed the card and put it on the gift card. As long as you keep an eye on it, they work pretty well! I love the gift cards it's a great way to save up for the trip If you use your GC in person at any shops or such, the bottom of the receipt will tell you your balance, that's my favorite part you don't have to call a number all the time or keep track for yourself!

At the Walt Disney World® Resort, the Disney Gift Card can be redeemed at select merchandise, food, ticketing and Guest Service locations, select third party lessees and Downtown Disney® District Operating Participant locations. The Disney Gift Card can be redeemed towards payment of a Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel room night or reservation. The Disney Gift Card is not accepted, at McDonalds®, Jellyrolls, Rainforest Café®, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

Did I tell you my little adventures these past few days? I've watched a little boy a few Friday afternoons. He's just 2 month old! His grandma is raising him while his parents get their lives straight. We Sat she calls me and asks if I can watch him Sunday AM to Wed PM! I was so excited! (She was going on vacation, and her other DD bailed on her at the last minute). So I got to play the baby game again and wake up ever 2 hours. It was fun, but now I'm in withdrawal! I don't know how people with twins could do it!

ok, see that's the difference between me & folks like you.....I wouldn't be all happy, I'd be NUTS as in not fun as all!!! I am so over babies..... guess my kids are lucky they're 8 &14 huh? although thinking about the crud of high school...maybe a baby's not so bad.....Glad you had fun!

Speaking of high school...Today is Casey's first Homecoming ...parade, bonfire & game...& tomorrow is the dance. She's going with 4 girlfriends to the dance...but we had to do the whole dress, shoes, get my nails done thing. We've watched the homecoming parade go down our street for 11 years...Grace & I are pretty excited to see Casey march in it...she's decided to march with Poms for the parade, cheer with Poms for the JV football game, and then march/play with band for the Varsity game and play with band for the bonfire/peprally. I would hate to be her today ! That's 4 different "costume" changes in a 3 hour time frame....but it's great when your mom's a scrapbooker This might be my last dance w/o a boy thing...we'll see...she got asked, but she said no thanks....she said she'd rather go with her friends....don't know how long that'll last

haha, i'm with you! Oh and I still have a baby! heehee! I've never ever been fond of the baby stage. I actually like them at Autumn and Gabriels age, but I'm not a baby person. AT ALL!

Chris, this is what I ended up doing for the kids KTTWC, Fast passes and their GCs. I also put a card in each one with our cell phone numbers on it just in case. <God forbid>

They clip right to the belt loop or backpack if I want to keep everyones. The kids just picked out what stickers and charms they wanted on theirs.

ok your little girls side trip sound so awesome! like me when I go scrapbooking...it's just tons of girl fun !!!!!!

Mich - those look cool....hmmm, do you think I could "convince" you to make a few for me? I'd love to have some for Casey & her friends for their band trip....I'd need band charms, disney charms, or orange & black charms (their school colors)....then of course I'd need a jasmine one (like I'm guessing Autumns!)....how much do you think? I'd buy them for the band kids if it wasn't too much money......I think I'd need maybe 10 for band, and 3 others....

so when do you all start decorating for Halloween? i'm super excited and already made Sal bring up all the decorations before he left! Now I want my parents to get decorating! I will probably spend the weekend over there and I totally want to get my dad into it this year since Autumn and Gabriel are all excited I just want to get buying this weekend and maybe the 2nd weekend in October get decorating at both houses!

Oh and I know there are not many young kiddos on board here, but is anyone doing Playhouse Disney Live this year or has anyone done it? We're going to the one at the Rosemont and my kids are soo excited, but I hope it's worth it!
