Hi gang,

Nanu57- i wish i would have known sooner you were looking for things to do in nyc. How does a real live ride along sound with the FDNY, i could have even arranged to get you to my fire house and on my rig, you could have ride alonged with us as we respond to real 911 runs. The FDNY has a ride along thing for years, sadly the paper work and application for it, has to be in months before its approved from head quaters. Sorry, i wish i would have known sooner, well there always next time.


All right gang, in under 10 hours i will be standing next to the mayor in manhattan. I'm really nervous, but that excited nervous. Ds is thrilled to get the day off from school and come with me. Not to worry dw is bringing the camera and i will post tons of pics as soon as i can.

Any liquor store will sell it, there are a few in the area you will be in. I believe there is one on 8th ave and 46 or 45 street.

Rebecca - Sounds like a plan! If that makes you happy then go for it! I would still go see a show though! I can't imagine being in NY and NOT going to Broadway, but I am a total dork, so that could explain it!

Cat - OMG!!! We sooooo love the Chuck Norris sayings in this house. One of my faves is: when the boogie man goes to sleep at night he checks in the closet for Chuck Norris!

Going back to Tucson today. My little yellow house is available again and so is one across the street from it! So I am going up with my NEW realtor who actually knows her biz and we are gonna make an offer on one of the two!!!!! Hopefully this time next month we will be closing on our house and moving in!

PJ--I'm so excited for you... I can't wait to see the pics. No, I wasn't looking for stuff to do, it was all planned...I just decided last night to SKIP the planned activities, since getting drunk and picking up guys just isn't my thing.

I DIDNT UPDATE!!! WE got the house I wanted!! Its so CUTE!!!

When we get in, Ill take pics. It's twice the size of where we are now (a double wide, of course ) and $50/more month!

Im so relieved and happy.

Well the mayor had more important things to do and was a no show, but there were a million other big dogs there that made up for it.The FDNY comminisher, the #1 FDNY Chief and a lot of others to name a few. As of right now i do not have any pics uploaded, not to worry, this thing is all over the news here, heres some links. I am the "chubby" guy in the middle, and the first speaker up close with the chubby face that says" its really nice to see him running around with a smile".

I really had a really nice time, there were at least 200 people there, it was held on the street and tourist kept stoping and taking pics of us, there were like 7 or 8 cameras there from the news, i felt so shy and had buterflys in my stomache.

I don't think its funny talking, I LOVE NY accents. Even more than British accents. I always thought I'd marry either a dark handsome Brit or a dark handsome New Yorker. But for some reason I always dated blonds.

Dw forgot that the camera was in her pocket book and took it to work with her, so i only have 2 quick pics from the internet.

Chris, congratulations on your new car!!!! I got a camera and I thought I did well! LOL!!!!

Rebecca-I'm sure you will have fun! I had never gone on a girls weekend until this past Feb, and we had such a great time! If you go on my myspace... it is the Foxwoods pics! We were CRAZY!!!! BUT, I did get away during the day while they were all gambling, and I don't gamble.... I went to the pool and read a book, and went to a sunny private place and read. It was nice not to be bothered by KIDS!!!! Enjoy the time!

I'm bringing two books with me...I will have 2 6-hour train rides to get through,and the iphone only holds a charge for 3 active hours.

So PJ--Here's the big question...I have this fear of cabs...but I think it would be better (safer) for me to take a cab back from dinner (buddha bar) then for me to take the subway. Do you agree? Should I be afraid of cabs? Is there something to watch out for? And do you tip cab drivers, and if so how much?

Yep the Canon Rebel Xt is a GREAT camera !! and Cat is right the S3 is a great camera too. I just bought the SD870 for vacation and I LOVE it too !

DH got me the SD870! I really like it, I hope that I can have the patience to learn all it can do. Have you done anything but point and shoot? I just got it on Mother's Day, so I haven't done anything fancy with it.

Gifts for Mother's Day? Wow. We don't usually celebrate Hallmark holidays here, so we rarely give gifts for mother's day or father's day or valentine's day. If anything Ryan will make me a card which I love.
