DH got me the SD870! I really like it, I hope that I can have the patience to learn all it can do. Have you done anything but point and shoot? I just got it on Mother's Day, so I haven't done anything fancy with it.

I haven't even had time to mess with it too much. Have you tried the time lapse recording yet ? That looks like fun ! There is also a function where you can record in black and white and then an accent color. So, if I wanted to record the fireworks and set it to red. Everything would be black and white expect for the red fireworks. I sent back two other cameras to Amazon because they sucked ( other small Canons) but I like this one

Gifts for Mother's Day? Wow. We don't usually celebrate Hallmark holidays here, so we rarely give gifts for mother's day or father's day or valentine's day. If anything Ryan will make me a card which I love.

I'm bringing two books with me...I will have 2 6-hour train rides to get through,and the iphone only holds a charge for 3 active hours.

So PJ--Here's the big question...I have this fear of cabs...but I think it would be better (safer) for me to take a cab back from dinner (buddha bar) then for me to take the subway. Do you agree? Should I be afraid of cabs? Is there something to watch out for? And do you tip cab drivers, and if so how much?

I have a hard enough time trying to remember my own name sometimes, nevermind all of yours here. Well here goes,

Rebecca cabs are for the very most part safe, here in nyc. Some feel that a very small percentage of cabbies drive to fast and switch lanes like every 10 seconds. My mom made this comment while here on a vist from Wis. i was in the same cab with her and it did'nt bother me and i did not notice it, so maybe it's just a nyc driver kind of thing.

I would say take the cab and don't worry about it, as for a tip depending on how much the fare is, depends on the tip, as my dads motto was for every 10 dollars on the fare add a 1 tip. Don't get crazy with the tip, most likely will never see this guy again, so it's ok not to tip as well.


as for the thing to watch out for, do not get into any cab unless it has TLC( taxi and limo commishin) license plates or is the offical yellow taxi that say NYC TAxi and the front door. Meaning its not an unmarked car or just a basic looking car that the driver says is a taxi.


As for the other thing to look out for, this one is the most important,
IF YOUR DRIVER LOOKS LIKE THE GUY IN THE PIC BELOW, DO NOT GET IN, CALL THE NYPD ASAP OR FBI OR PRES BUSH!!!!!!

OF COURSE I LOVE YOU!!! I can't remember anything either! So we are int he same boat there. (unless it's an ADR and I start my little freak out because we are 2 minutes behind schedule! THEN I can remember!) And you are waaaay dependable. Otherwise I would not be your friend. Besides, you e-mailed me NKOTB concert info as soon as she found it? Sheesh, give youself come credit lady!

I can't even believe you posted that!!! I had NO CLUE by cleavage was so out there that day. I was just going about my biznass and well.... It figures that the one where it's hanging out pretty bad is the one time they go in super close to add in Tink!
