The preferred rooms are in the 60s bldgs - the bldgs closest to the main bldg (food court/bus stops/check in area).

We've stayed in the 60s bldg (the one with Mowgli & Baloo), and it was really nice. Our room overlooked the kiddy pool and it was still very quiet. We've also stayed in the 50s bldg (with Tramp from Lady & The Tramp). It was a very short walk to the main bldg, and it was also really quiet. One night, we even saw fireworks from our room!

Enjoy your stay!!! :cool1:

The preferred rooms are in the 60's building, and you can request a building when you make your reservations.
The 60's building is the closest to the main building, and it's also the building closest to the main pool-or "The Hippy Dippy Pool" as it is more commonly called.
As my DisneyMom will tell you (Magic2000) although the 60's building is located right next to the main pool, it really is quiet. This may have something to do with the fact that we were on the third floor, but maybe not.
While we were there, my DisneySister and I took a walk around the property to look at the different decade buildings, and while they were all nice with a really cool theme to match their respective years-I remember the 90's building being a good walk away, as was one of the 70's. This is great for people who want EXTREME quiet, I guess, but when you're getting back from being at the park all day, and it's hot and you just want to get to your room, I don't think I'd like this. The 60's buildings are located right behind the main building and lobby-i.e. not far from the bus stops.
Which ever building you choose however, the hotel is really awesome! Enjoy your stay!

I stayed at the preferred room last year and am staying there again this year. Last year we were in the first set of buildings in the 60s section over looking the Hippie Dippie Pool. We paid $10 more a night for this privilige. However, there are a second set of buildings behind them that are still considered preferred. They are not as close to the food court and if you get a pool view it is of the kiddie pool. Keep in mind a Pool View is not guaranteed and at night time it can get pretty noisy. We did not mind the noise, but some people might not like it. I personally don't think it is worth the extra money, but my wife is insisting we stay in the same section. She thinks it is totally worth it.

If you are staying in the 50s or 70s section you are just as close to the food court and gift shop called Classic Hall. Me and my family loved Pop Century - the pool was open all night, but there were no lifeguards on duty, I really enjoyed ending my day at the parks with a late night swim.

My friend and I stayed in the 80's building at POP. Although it was the farthest building out, we were both born in the 80's so it was fun to see icons from our childhood. Also, we had a beautiful room overlooking the lake! Enjoy POP! It's great! :)
