Is the annual December Pop-Warner week at Disney still or have they moved to Universal? I thought I read that. We are going in 2024.

Nope, not at Disney since 2019. Never at Universal as far as I know. It's now held at Camping World Stadium which is just west of downtown Orlando. Runs from 12/2 - 12/9 this year.

Yes, they were at Universal in 2021 & 2022.

Yes, you're correct. I did some further digging and saw that it was a joint venture between Universal and Camoing World Stadium.

No when ever knows, but I think the relationship with Disney is completely over primarily from a Disney perspective.

Thank you. I'm concerned with 2024. We are staying at AKL and I just read that they also host the Cheerleaders and worry how it may affect our stay.

Personally doubt Disney would ever open that door again.

You read that AKL hosts cheerleaders? I’ve never seen or heard of any groups at Deluxe resorts. If they’re not at your hotel, you won’t be affected. And Pop Warner cheerleaders will be wherever the football teams are.

We’ve been in deluxe resorts when cheerleading teams were onsite in February & May. Never even knew they were there.

AKL is technically a deluxe but practically speaking it’s closer to a mod+ with its small rooms and lack of closeness to all the good stuff. AKL is unable to demand the Deluxe prices of other Deluxe hotels and is not able to fill even at its lower price point. I’m not surprised to see Disney treating it as a mod for group booking purposes.

No doubt-a Resort with a Zoo is pretty DELUXE!

I am hoping one day Disney will kick it up a notch and build a Skyliner from AKL to AK!
