Pop Warner 2013, which week will it be

Do you think that Pop Warner will be the 1st or 2nd week in December of 2013? I know that Disney will usually not offer much discounts at the resorts when they are there so I just don't want to have to put down a deposit on both weeks at a resort, and then just wait and see. But that may be what I will have to do.

Anyone can calculate Pop Warner. From Thanksgiving, count to the next Friday, it starts that weekend and lasts a week.

A week from the Friday after Thanksgiving - as the PP stated, count a week from the Friday after Thanksgiving and that is the day they start to arrive.

It is always a week after Thanksgiving week, or the first full week in December.

in 2013 it's the SECOND full week of December with it starting on the first Saturday. It's been confirmed by Pop Warner Team Disney folks already. It was posted in your December thread last week. Not sure if you saw it or not so here it is again. I think the 5th starts the room block thru the 15th with the fun activities starting on the 7th and competition starting on the 8th

Yes, again, it is very easy to calculate as PP's have stated. Pop is the same week every year.

Look at the day after Thanksgiving; it starts exactly one week later on Friday and runs to the following weekend.

It is a youth football organization. There are teams/leagues all over the country. They have games during the week leading up to their "Super Bowl" every year at the Wide World of Sports complex in WDW.

Football/cheerleading competition for teens, i think. I never paid attention to it until I booked a a vacation for Dec. 1-6 next year...all the hype of PW made me investigate it.

As PP mentioned, 12/1-12/8 is for 2012. Those who said 12/7-12/13 for 2013 are correct. Usually it just so happens that Pop Warner falls the first full week of December, but thats not rule of thumb. With thanksgiving being late next year, it will be the second full week of December. This same situation happened in 2008, with Thanksgiving being late, and Pop Warner did fall the second week of December.

Just passing along some info... I spoke to Pop Warner and ESPN this morning and they confirmed that Pop Warner week for 2013 would begin on 12/7/13. Happy Planning!

There are actually 2 different national youth football leauges. They will both be in Orlando the same week in 2013. Only Pop Warner stays in Disney though. For the most part the restriction the leauge puts on the other one are a bit stricter so the kids are a little more well behaved. I saw one group of cheerleaders being told by the local orginazation that they would not be aloud to return the next year because of bad behavior no matter how well they placed at the state and regional levels. Anyway all hotels in and out of disney will be full of alot of kids. These are not high school groups however. In fact none of them are school teams. That is an entirley different group. They tend to go in the spring and it is an entirley different environment. The cheer gyms will also show up in the spring but I have yet to hear any complaints about them either.
