Hello all. A friend of mine (who is also a member of the DIS) is comtemplating joining us in WDW in April. Her family (she, DH, and DS's 2 and 5) would be using a relative's pop up camper. She's not sure if she really wants to "rough it" in a pop-up. I don't know the size of the camper, but I know it doesn't have A/C.

Any thoughts, advice, words of wisdom? :) TIA.

Barb,

I would think that camping in a Pop-Up without AC would be fine in April. I would just bring a table fan in case it is a little on the warm side. I would also be prepared for a cool snap. I think pop-up camping has a lot to offer. We now have our 27' TT and sometimes I miss the old days. Now, on the other hand, I don't miss tent camping - I get more than enough of that with the scouts.

Encourage them to go - it is always alot of fun when you have friends in the CG. We will be there with friends the first week in April and our kids just love seeing each other at the campfire/pool.

Happy Camping

BTW - Which model Outback do you have - the floorplan looks interesting - Are those bunks in the back?

Thanks Live4FW. We had a Coleman pop up before the Outback and loved it--well except for the "no bathroom" aspect.

I'm a hot weather wimp, so April in WDW is HOT for me. (But then again, look where I'm from. ;))

We've got the Outback 25RSS. We are happy with it. The floorplan is good for us, but unfortunately, the quality of the manufacturing could be better. But it's minor things like they put the gray water label on the black water, and vice versa. Anyway, yes, those are bunks in the front. There is plenty of storage space and closets. The dinette is next to the couch. There is a door across from that. And then there is full bed slide in the back, which is nice when you have a back in site.

we have a small pop up and have camped at FW a few times. It may be a bit tosty in April with no AC, but the nights (which is more than likely the only time they will be spending in the camper itself) should be cool enough to enjoy. be sure and bring a fan or two along though.

We love our pop up and prefer it to a room at the All Stars.
