Anyone get good LLs just 3 days out staying off property?

Has anyone been successful geting morning LLs times when booking 3s day out becuase staying off site? We stayed on property back in April and I recall LLs going quickly at 7am, 7 days out and how I had to keep checking to get bettter times. We'll only be at the parks for two days before DD checks into the Disney College Program (DCP). I'm trying to avoid chagnging hotels on our "day of rest" day before the day DD checks into the DCP. We'll be staying for a few days after her check in and do not plan on visiting the parks.
