POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

you know.. As much as i would love to have a refurb room.. I love the 50's area building #1 soooo much that I will give up any hope of a refurb to have that area & that building..

Hi All! We are checking into the POP next Tuesday...CAN'T WAIT!

I was going to do online check in. We need connecting rooms and I thought I might also request a refurbished room. Anyone know which area I should request? Is all of the 50's area refurbed?

THANKS!! :cool1:

If any one is at the Pop now could you let us know if Buildings 1, 2, 3 the 50s section are starting to get refrub. Post picks if you got them. I Hope they will be done by Nov like they say. Thank you!

If you go back through the posts, I'm pretty sure building 3 is near done - if not done already. I'm not sure I heard anything about building 2 and yesterday someone said they saw no work on building 1 and they just got back and their room was not refurbed.

After fighting on the phone with the operator at POP, I finally got through to someone else. The operator said there are no refurbs going on at POP, only at Port Orleans. I told her to check the DisBoards, she told me that the DisBoards are all false. :rotfl2:

So, finally got to talk to someone.

Buildings 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 are completely finished.

They are currently working on Building 4, 2nd floor and after that is finished (in about a week), they are scheduled to move to the first floor. (3rd and 4th floor are done, or just about done).

Buildings 1 and 2 have NOT BEEN TOUCHED. They will start on those buildings after 4 is finished, but she didn't know if building 1 or 2 would be next.

Hope this helps! 74 more hours for me!:cheer2:

You should call her back and tell her to go walk over to Building 4, 2nd floor and observe. You should tell her to please take her map.. it doesn't look like she knows her resort!

When I called, she swore up and down there were no refurbs going on. When she finally transferred me, I told her to stay on the line and listen to our conversation. I basically told them that all employees should really have a sense of what is happening on their property. :confused3

Whatever - I'm still going in 72 hours! :cheer2:

I don't know, if it were me, I wouldn't be stirring things up with resort CM's right before my arrival. You know what they say about treating service staff in a restaurant because you don't know what will happen to your food if you tee them off? I'd be afraid my ressie would get "lost" or not get any of my requests.:scared1:

Well, just got off the phone with POP's front desk as I was confirming our requests(King size bed, 60s builiding)
I also requested a refurbished room, at which she said she has to check the construction plan(So it looks they have some info sheet for the guests to aviod misinformation) and told me that they are starting with the 60s only now and since we arrive in a week, she asked what was our higher preferrence(a refurb room or a room in the 60s)
Hope this helps

I can say from experience to never tick off the maids at Pop century. They will retaliate. If they don't do what they should report it and then ask to be moved immediatly.

This is good news for me! Staying at POP in late OCT in 60's, so hopefully it will be done by then!!!!

I wonder if 50's will be done by my next visit on Nov 26th. :confused3 I've stayed in 90's and 70's, but would like to try 50's. But I will need rehabbed because with a teenage son and young daughter, that privacy curtain is all important. I'd have to prioritize rehabbed over decade in this case, although I prefer the old dressers.

By the way, we had a mousekeeper named Zoila. She was delightfully pleasant and helpful. :cloud9: We were in 70's. I wonder if the maids have a particular building assignment or if they move them around week to week?:confused3

Well since they are working already on the second floor of the 60;s section. I guess I will keep my request the same. 60's facing the lake.

Wow, where have I been?

I totally forgot that rooms were being refurbished. We were there 2 weeks ago, and we stayed in 50's, 3 floor, lady. It had not been refurbished! Had I been paying attention to this thread, I could have asked for a refurbished room.

Our room was very clean and honestly, I didn't think it needed anything, but I know for a fact that it was not refurbished. I have pictures of it.

I am guessing by now it has been refurbished....figures!

Now, we later stayed at ASmo and well, that room was . It needs a MAJOR refurb.

Mousekeepers are the unsung heroes of WDW. We always put the person's name on the mosekeeping envelope with daily messages like "you're doing a FANTASMIC job!" and "we'd go GOOFY without you!" The morning we check out the final message is "Thank you for your hard work. We LOVE YOU!"

The more pixie dust you spread, the more you get back.....

I agree with you completely! I didn't even give them my first name. They had no idea who I was.

I'm 95% sure that the 50's are already done.

They probably have caller id you know......... just sayin....

That's okay - I called from my work, which is in another state and I work at a college, so my name is not associated with the caller ID. Trust me, I wouldn't do anything to mess up my ressies; when they asked me my name, I told them that wasn't necessary.
