POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

I met dozens of cast members who were part of the Disney College program. Many of them have only been there a short time. The program participants participate for 9 months I think. My sister's niece did 6 months as Pluto. They don't honestly have time to know all the intimate details like us DISboarders do. I know they receive some sort of training... but they don't know it all.

Yes, that's true. My DD did the college program this year and she was only there from Jan. 6 - May 15. There is a slightly longer program that goes from Jan. - Aug. but they still don't have time to learn everything.

I had a quick question im sure its somewhere posted in these 62 pages but.. im really lazy this morning lol sorry, we are checking into the movies on the 14 and I was thinking about switching to pop, Is the building with roger rabbit a preferred room and are the finished yet. I love the movies but it would be nice to maybe have an updated room. thanks

We checked in about 5:30 pm yesterday. Was told our room wasn't refurbished and they didn't have a preferred refurbished room for us. When we got to the room, it was refurbished. We were gladly shocked. Nice room. We are in the 50s top floor in the Tramp building. Haven't seen any workers. I'll post when I do and tell you where.:)

The 80's and 90's rooms are not preferred and from what I've been reading, those areas should be refurbed. Don't quote me on that!

Sweet! I leave in 6 days and the Tramp building is where I like to be. Can you let us know if you notice anything. Thanks!

yes spring is 5 months theres one for students on the quarter system instead of semesters which are shorter and some that are 9 months and you have those that extend and stay a whole year. i tried to wear my earning my ears ribbon as long as i could :guilty: but they have us take it off and i sure didnt know everything i still depend on some the people here! there are alot more students there now since they have added more student apartments.

IF I looked at the preferred locations map correctly, then all of building 3 in the 50's isn't preferred, correct? We didn't pay for preferred, but we did request 50's ground floor, pool view. Just want to make sure I didn't request a preferred room when I didn't pay for it. We'd get there and my request would be all messed up. :goodvibes

You got it right. One wing of bldg 3 facing the pool is NOT preferred.

How did you make a special request on online checkin? I did it also and there was no where to note any requests. I did call and add them to my res a long time ago, but I didnt think you could make requests on online checkin?

But as far as requests, I booked preferred and only requested to not face the pool. But since we really need connecting rooms, I didnt want to add too many requests.

Yeah, the online check in just a two check boxes. One said ground floor and one was something else that didn't apply to me. There was no box to request a particular building or section. I did that with my travel agent who put the request in for me. I had requested 1st floor, which I got... in the 70's... which I got, but then I ended up having to move because the room was toooooo close to the smoking walk for my taste. I just couldn't risk it. So I took 2nd floor in the same building on the other end. It was great! And every single time we pressed the elevator button, ding! it was there. No wait at all. :woohoo:

From what I understand... the 80's and 90's are all done, which is where Roger Rabbit is. Although, we swam in the 90's pool.... it is TOTALLY unshaded. The buildings just don't shade it as much as 60's seem to. It was really warm in the water. Just to let you know.

there was a litle pop up that had like 4 or 6 different things, you didnt have to check any of them...

That is weird. I most certainly didn't get a pop up that had 4 or 6 things in it. There was a box with 2 items, one of which was first floor. I think Fridge might have been the 2nd that you could check or uncheck. There was also something asking if we needed a pack n play... and something else.. but it was part of the online form. Not a pop up. I wonder why the difference?:confused3

I left Pop early this morning. So sad. :sad2: We stayed in building #1, next to the Lady statue, second floor. We saw and heard no work going on in the 50's section. We didn't have a refurbished room but we did get connecting rooms and a free fridge in the handicapped room. Whooohooo!

We did see mattresses all lined up on the second floor balcony, building #4, on the back side of the building one morning (August 25th maybe). From the satellite picture it looks like rooms 4213-4218. So they were definitely still working on the 60's section last week.

Our rooms were really clean and did not show any wear so I was perfectly happy with the older rooms.

Thanks for the update! Sorry your vacation is over. :sad1:

Thanks for all the updates. I am watching this closely since we will be there in late October which gives them some time to get more done. So keep those reports coming. :thumbsup2
