POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

Hi! I just requested a 50's room for 11/27-12/4, you think this group of rooms will be redone by then if they are slated to begin refurb in August?

The information we have right now says all renovations will be done by early November, so yes, the 50s should be done for 11/27.

Darn- we're getting violent storm warnings right now - with a flood advisory. We just had a bad set of storms last weekend. It reminded me of the ones we got in Orlando last year! Heavy rain and downpours! Our mall's roof caved on Saturday - we've never seen hard rain like this in decades!

Good luck with the weather. I had to find this post like 6 or 7 pages back already. I just saw the 60's section this past week. Things get burried fast.

According to Kathleen at POP, all renovations will be done by September. That's was a relief! I didn't want to be in a building that's being worked on during the day! We like to take R&R in the middle of the day to avoid the high heat.

I remember that! We were at Epcot on our way back to POP to get changed for HDDMR!! Also I have a picture Pop's pool was Overflowing and they said I forget which one of the moderate resorts pool was overflowing into the lobby or main building !! It was a mess!

What are your dates this year we will be there basically the same dates(last year was 8/24-9/3) give or take a few days! 8/22-9/1

We were trying to get a bus to AKL for our ressie at Boma. But our shoes and clothes got so soaked through that we couldn't enjoy the meal much once we arrived.

Our dates last year were 8/25-9/5. This year, our dates are 8/24-9/4, same week!

Wow you are going on the same dates as me 11/27-12/4 and i also requested a room in the 50s building. Ill be there for my honeymoon with my wife. I also read on the boards that the 50's building should be done with the refurb by mid Nov. I hope there wont be be any delays.

Ooo, ooo - do you think "by September" means I can keep my request for building 1 / 50s and expect a renovated room in mid-September? Or that renovations will be complete *in* September? I'm still trying to figure out if I should request a different building where we know renovations are complete, or gamble that building 1 will be done.

I leave at the end of September I'm going to wait til the first of September to make my request. I don't want to do it now and have to call back. I'm hoping the 60's section is done lake view. If not I will ask for 70's lakeview.

We had the 60's section last year and it was pretty quite.

I don't know for sure, but from reviewing this thread it seems the 70s buildings 6 and 10 are either already done or near done, and so that would probably mean all the preferred rooms in those buildings would be done in time for your trip.

It's not clear to me when the 60s buildings will be done, but there are reports from the last week or so that work is going on now.

It seems less likely the preferred rooms in the 50s buildings will be done in time for your trip, although the post from trigger93 says all renovations will be done by September.

I'll be there in 24 days. Last April we stayed in the non-preferred part of the 70's building and our room was shady AND rehabbed. I would actually like the same room please? I still have the slip in the van with the room number on it. I'm not gonna pay for a preferred location, but I do want rehabbed, although I'd rather not be in 90's. Not a great decade if you ask me!

I wonder what areas will be done when I get there.

We just arrived today and got a refurbished room on the fourth floor if building 5, building 6.

Were the bathrooms refurbished? Ours is the same as before and the uplift is awful and barely flushes, lol. You have to hold it down and it sounds like it's sick, lol.

We wouldn't move though, only slight annoyance, and we got awesome room with our best lake view yet on the 4th floor. It's exactly what requested. O

Has anyone noticed that the new dresser has less storage than the original one. The new one has only 3 drawers and less shelf/cubby space. I had thought I had a rehabbed 70's room in April, but I know we had the original style dresser and TV. However, I also know the rehabbed bathroom is what OUR bathroom looked like. Could it have been partially rehabbed? We also didn't have a privacy curtain in the bath area, that was mentioned as included in the rehab.
