Josh our Empire representative has spent close to two hours at our apartment. Our original flooring choice (the first picture, Google Northbrook Alcove Empire Today) is not wheelchair friendly. The second picture, (Google Lakehaven Gluedown 2.5 Empire Today) is. It's also a nicer more honey color. My Dad and Josh agreed it is lighter than what we currently have. It costs a little more than our first choice but is the best of any option. It will still be done on 11-11 and 11-12. We are still praying about and looking into any way to get some reimbursement on the floor cost. That would be such a blessing for us.

Good morning. It is 34 here now with temps heading to the mid 50s. It may be a lake day today. I walked there yesterday and it was so peaceful and quiet. I am getting ready for the trip. My MA friend is onboard with going so I will just have faith that all will be well and safe. Maybe the shutdown will end and the air traffic controllers get paid and have not as much stress as now. And also everyone can be paid and people get the services they need.

It’s raining here now. We have relatives who did get to WDW yesterday safely, but they had a 4 hour delay and a change of terminal.

@Snowysmom, like you, I hope the air traffic controllers and others get paid soon. How many people can afford to not get paid for a month??

Good morning. Sunny and 38 now heading for 62.

My ISP has me so upset. I've been using Thunderbird (Mozilla) for my email for 20 years. Yesterday I noticed that while I could send mail, it wasn't showing up anywhere else. I could get mail on my desktop, but it was sporadic on my phone. So I call, and after 4 reps and 1 1/2 hours on the phone, I find out they have a new email server and you can no longer use anything but their email program, which sucks and is why I never used it. So I go to stupid page for it, and log in and it's showing me Don's email, which I never bothered doing anything with. I got them to remove both of his email addresses from the account. Then I go to log in, and even though it says incorrect user and password, it lets me log in and open my email. But at the top of the account, again, there is Don's name. I don't know what part of this is now my account and his name should be nowhere on it.
It won't let me copy and paste any emails I want to save from Thunderbird into the other one so I have to keep everything in Thunderbird, and then copy and paste it into gmail if I want to send it. What a pain in the butt. I made them give me corporates address and phone # and I want to talk to someone there. I've never heard of any ISP saying you can't use whatever email program you want to use.
I find out that they started this in January, and while claiming they notified customers, I got no notification. They said the engineers are still working on getting the emails to sync with phones. They should have done that before they made people use something they don't want to use.

Then I go to Chrome, and I find out for some reason that most of my 'bookmarked' pages, are gone, poof into thin air. I spent another hour trying to remember what most of them were and put them back in. It was a frustrating afternoon.

Then Summer starts texting me pics of cars she's looking at in Ohio. Why do I need to know, I'm not paying for it. She's still looking at cars that have more than 100,000 miles on them and are still around $4000. I give up, I just look at the texts, don't say anything to her, and delete them.

To top of yesterday, Dave had said he would be here around 3, and never showed up. I guess something came up, but at least text me and let me know.

Today I am just doing light house cleaning.

Thanks again everyone. Dad and I are pleased about the new color choice. I will make some reimbursement phone calls today to try and get us some money back. I feel so badly for my Dad who is overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done before and after Empire come. How grateful extra to God I am for Antonia who is coming on Thursday and Friday.

I will also call M, the ombudsman this morning to request that she advocate to get me back on therapy. My friend A did say she is still working on it, too. I have to resume therapy this week whatever it takes. Update to come.

It's cool here this morning. Please stay warm and well my dear Quacker family. I will check back in later.

Remarkably, we have friends who lived next door to Bonnie when she lived with her human who had to go into nursing home for memory! They already had 4 dogs, so had to say “no” when they were offered her, and so, Bonnie had to go to the shelter.

Today we invited our friends to visit, and we all think that Bonnie recognized her former neighbors! They had many stories to tell us, apparently her former human had left the door opened and Bonnie had gotten over to her yard area a few times.

Good morning. It stayed in the upper 40's overnight so it felt warm outside when I went out to feed the cats. Going to be 62 today and 71 tomorrow. The winds were strong again yesterday but they've subsided now.

Tomorrow Dad will begin going through stuff to prepare a tiny bit for Antonia coming to clean/pack on Thursday. I may not see him after today until Saturday. We will plan ahead and then for next week too when our new floors get installed at last. I am still making any possible reimbursement phone calls. Dad when he goes to get a parking permit for Antonia and Empire, will ask City Hall in person for resources as well.

I'm here. Just really busy!

Babysat 9 month old grandson yesterday. I expect he will be walking in a few weeks. He's a little powerhouse of moves!

Brought DGD a pink, plush, princess jacket. She wore it to preschool.

Brought older (8 and 9) DGDs jackets as well, but more Mickey and Minnie aligned. They loved them.

Brought a hoodie for DD - it didn't fit. It was too large. Will give to a friend. DD will get a different size in December.

Spent the morning on the phone doing business and then spent another hour doing bills online. $200 electric bill. Too high for this small house. Heat is gas, so it's just regular appliances and lots of electronics.

Good morning. It is 36 now with temps heading to 50. I am taking a couple of hours off to get my car inspected. I like to go to the car repair place Chris used in our old area. I trust them to do things right so I travel 35 minutes there. I am also leaning towards canceling my trip by Friday. I am talking with my friend today. If it looks like a deal may be made to open the govt I will go. Right now it looks like everyone is digging in their heels. The flight situation is getting worse by the day and they are discussing closing air space next week and many more delays and cancellations. Phoenix airport had 160 delays and cancellations yesterday and a ground delay for all flights. I would be stressed during the entire trip. I am calling the tour company today to get the cancellation penalties which will become a trip credit for me. I need to lessen my stress and anxiety, take care of me, and not be a people pleaser about this but a me pleaser. I feel better knowing I have a plan.

Happy Hump Day!

@Snowysmom, I don't blame you one bit for looking into cancelling your trip. I was watching the news last night and was thinking "what would I do if I had a trip scheduled". I don't know if I could deal with the delays and cancellations, and definitely couldn't see myself waiting in the TSA line. They showed one airport where the line for security was outside. No way!

My car is in the shop getting a new engine this week. Praying it will be done Friday. The owner of the garage called over the weekend and offered to let me use their "shop" car instead of paying for a rental again this week. I took him up on his offer. Not the prettiest of cars, a little old but it runs and it's free so I'm good with it.

Mia's birthday party is Saturday. One of her presents that I got her was a personalized book. The little girl in the story looks like her (I had to upload a picture), I had to list her favorite foods, favorite places to visit, and her favorite activities. It's really cute and I hope she likes it. I also got her a jean jacket with little Minnie Mouse heads on it.

Jacob, Livia, and I are headed to Costco for the first time on Sunday. I want to check them out and compare it to Sam's. I like Sam's for the convenience, Costco is farther away but I'll see how it goes.
