POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

and now back to our regularly scheduled programing popcorn::

Oh, my! Yes, I'm the mom of the bed jumper, LOL! And you are correct, he broke it IN.... No beds or children were harmed in the process.

I don't promote jumping - last thing I need on Day 1 of our trip is him tumbling off and needing medical attention. Yes, shoes were off. He's autistic and likes to jump and is so excited to get into our resort room and that's how he says woohoo, we're here I suppose, by giving a quick jump for a bit. But I do put a stop to it for his safety obviously, and yes, breaking stuff in the room would not be a good thing and I don't promote that!

But, can't remember the room number... ground floor, side closest to food court, about midway in facing the courtyard... bed against the wall may now be a little more comfier for future guests:)

I'm sure that dirty shoes on the bedspreads are the least of our problems.:lmao:

Hey 5boyz - Another Mom to 5 boys here with the 6th being a girl! :thumbsup2

Hi MommyPoppins...isnt it fun!!! My kids are actually a bit older but I dont know how to change them...lol!!! So we may know abit about boys jumping on bed......:rotfl:

Ok.. so the mattresses are safe from 50 pound toddlers jumping on them. WHEW!

Can we get back on topic now? :)

Just checked out on 4/31. We requested and received a refurbed room in the 70's buiding. Room 6249 facing the lake on the corner near the elevators. The room smelled like it was just painted. Everything was new. The new storage units hold more than you would think. There was plenty of room for my wife and DDs 14 and 10 to store all of there clothes. I could have fit mine in as well, but I usually just live out of the suitcase.
The new pillow-top mattresses were great.
I'll post some pics when I get home.

Also, I did not see any rooms being worked on while I was there.

Sounds like a great location! Will looks forward to pics when you get back.:)

Have a fabulous time! :goodvibes

We actually check in tomorrow but we are staying in a dive tonight and getting up early to checkin and get park tickets...have request refurb in building 9... we will see what we get...

I will try to do a tour of the resort and invesitgate any additional building refurbs...

Here is hoping for a safe trip and one we will always remember...this is our fourth stay at POP, and we enjoy it each time...

Swampbo.....Have a great time! Happy Easter. That would be great if you get a minute or 30 to do the tour!!! :thumbsup2 THANKS!!!

I just got back from a week at the POP, we stayed in the 1950's. The rooms weren't renovated, and the TV's were neither High def nor flat screen. The only thing that might be a saving grace for those of you staying, I heard other guests saying that their room's beds (the newer beds) were nothing more than a box matress pad with a 4 inch pad on it; apparently they were really uncomfortable.

If you want to be sure at this point you'd need to book building 6. We know it's completed.

But then reports were they skipped the big wheel building and started on 80s & 90s. Not sure why they didn't finish 70s. :confused3

Anyone have anything new to report?

Thanks! (and thanks canadaguy for answering too) Next time I call, I'll add a request for building 6 to my ressy! We're SO excited for this trip. We normally do Mods, but thought we'd try a value this time (it's a "budget" trip). (and, i'm kind of trying to stay at every resort at some point too ;) )

I heard on the Dis Podcast that the Pirate rooms at CBR had the box springs with the mattress pad and that was because of the way the beds were designed but the Nemo rooms were not like that.

If the new beds at POP were like the Pirate beds, we couldn't tell but we were up every day by 7 and were in bed typically between 1 and 2am so for us it was not an issue but I'd be curious to see if that was the case!

I apologize if this has already been asked and/or answered ... do we have a master list anywhere of what buildings have been refurbed??

Phoned up and put in a request for 80s/90s refurb. The curtain would be a big help for us as we're three friends sharing - one guy, two girls!

Building 6 (the 70s) and all of building 8 (in the 80s/90s) ... that's all we have confirmed at this point.

Work continues Im sure. Reports of some floors in building 9 being complete..

It will all get done.. it just takes time. I'd expect it to be done by June or July.

Can someone please tell me exactly what buildings have been completed in the reno.....and which 'way' they working...ie when will building 3 be under reno's! I don't want to request a room/area that will be under reno during my stay May 17th -23
Thanks people!! :goodvibes
