POP preferred locations ?

I booked the POP Century for our family trip and also booked a preferred room.

Can anyone tell me what to specifically ask for in regards to room location? What section, etc? I ask because my husband has some mobility issues and the closer we are to the Everything Pop building and the buses the better, for him and me.

We stayed at Caribbean Beach before in building 26 of Martinique. The location was great for his issues. I am including that info in case anyone is familiar with the distance for reference sake.

Also, are there elevators or should I be certain to request ground floor? He absolutely can not do stairs daily. He could use them in case of emergency, but not daily.

I just wanted to add, I know that any requests are just that, a request, but I'd like to have a couple ideas of what may work best. Thanks.

HI. We are staying there in May so I have been on these boards looking for some info about Pop.

They do have elevators and the best location seems to be the 70s section.Its close to everything like the foodcourt and the bus stops. I asked my travel agent and he also recommended that we stay in the 70s section.

The front sections of the 50's building are also perferred. You could look at a resort map to help you decide! Enjoy your trip!

Hi - I just returned from Pop Century and I also have a dh with mobility issues. They do have elevators but I requested and received a ground floor room and we absolutely loved it. Even though there are elevators you may still have to go out of your way to use them. We were in the 70's building right next to the foosball guys and the Mickey phone. My dd's are 10 and 11 and they enjoyed playing outside the room and I felt perfectly safe because I could see them out the window. I would definitely request ground floor and when you request tell them it's due to medical issues.

I just booked Pop for August last night. I requested the 50s section for closeness to the parking lot, Everything Pop, and a pool. I was surprised when she told me that 50s was standard. I was always under the impression that it was preferred. I even questioned the CM on the phone, and she said I thought so too, I even looked at the map and figured it would be, but the computer is telling me its standard. I asked if the entire area was standard, and she said Yes! All of 50s was standard. This is the first time I'm staying at Pop, so can someone clear this up for me.

Also, is 50s a good section to be near the pool, parking lot, and the main building? I don't want to be too far from my car, because I do use it to go offsite to the store etc at least once.

When I stayed at Pop last August the prefered rooms were the section of rooms closest to the main building in any of the 50, 60, and 70's buildings. The buildings are in a T shape and the rooms in the section of the T closest to the main building would be those prefered rooms. I hope this makes sense. These buildings are all about the same distance to the main hall. Keep in mind that the elevators are in the center of the buidlings. No matter what room you get you have to go to the center of the building to use the elevator and then walk from there to the main hall making all the rooms about the same distance in those buildings unless you plan to use the stairs on the ends of the building every day. The other thing about POP is even the 80 and 90 buildings are not very far from the busses because you can cut through the parking area to catch the busses. I would bet some of those rooms are closer to the busses than some of the farther rooms in the 60's and 50's buildings.
