POP, FQ or CBR-what say you??

DD and I are going down to celebrate 21st birthday 8/31-9/4 and would love thoughts on the following. We normally don’t go down in the summer months, so we’re planning extra pool/down time on our park days. We’re taking advantage of the 3 park deal (AK, EP, & HS- 1 day each) and going to MNSSHP on Tuesday night. We’ll do AK either on arrival day or on MNSSHP and for this trip will plan on it being a half day park. Here’s the question- do you suggest Pop Preferred, or standard at CBR or FQ? I’m leaning sky liner since we want the mid-day breaks and seems faster and less time in heat waiting/riding bus to EP and HS. However, we’ve also not stayed at FQ and size and something new is attractive. Cost would be Pop $872, FQ $1134 or CBR $1170. What would you do and why? Thanks for the advice!

Pop, very handy for HS/Epcot. Longest bus trip will be to MK but at that time of day shouldn't be many waiting.

FQ is my favorite of those for relaxation… it has a small foot print… which means a lot to me at the end of a long day of walking… A great bar with music on the weekends… And… Access to downtown Disney via boat… I love pop but am not a big skyliner fan… I get why people like it… It feels a little more fun than a bus… But if you rope drop… You have to get up so early and stand in line before the Skyliner is even running… It’s just not worth it for me… But I get why people like it… and I like pop overall but It’s another big resort though… And I don’t think it is as relaxing as your other two options… carribean has fun theming and the skyliner…great pool and pool bar…but… it is a huge resort… If you don’t have a preferred room… It can be a problem… of the three… I would pick French Quarter because I am not a fan of the Skyliner… But if you want a Skyliner experience… Then the other two would be your better option

For your plans I would take whichever of the three is on the Skyliner simply because it’s easier transport for at least 3 of the parks you intend to visit. So by this logic you are down to choosing one of two.

As many have mentioned in various threads, I would be Leary of doing a skyliner resort in the summer due to daily thunderstorms and the skyliner shutting down. For that reason alone, I’d do POFQ.

CBR is our favorite moderate by far and would be our choice here. It's got such a relaxed vibe which is such a nice change of pace from the craziness of the parks. In our opinion the grounds are nicer, has a better pool and pool bar and the Skyliner is a game changer. The rooms at CBR are also bigger than POFQ and Pop. You'll have a blast no matter what you choose, but CBR just has more to offer.

thanks- years ago we were going to stay at FQ, but the water slide pictures terrified my daughter so we went Riverside. Happily she's grown out of that and this year could even enjoy the bar- how time flies! I remember years ago FQ and Riverside sometimes shared busses, have you had that experience or is it a dedicated bus?

I have found that the buses are dedicated to FQ unless it’s the middle of the day… Then sometimes they share a bus… But definitely not at the busy times…

FQ would be my choice. It's such an intimate resort.

FQ for sure. The theming is gorgeous, the bar (and pool bar) is great, its super small so wherever you are the buses are close by. For me CBR is too big, depending which building you are in it could be a long walk to the skyliner/food court. Additionally summer = thunderstorms, so the skyliner may be down multiple times during your trip.

We've stayed at all 3 and I agree it's a tough choice. If it's going to be a chill, relaxing trip stay at FQ. If it will be more go-go-go, then stay at POP. I will add, I never loved Epcot until I stayed at a skyliner resort.

FQ for sure. We also love Riverside for the pool and landscaping. You can take the boat for Disney Spring which opens up endless dining possibilities

Done all three, numerous times. If you're only using the room to rest then I'd do Pop Century, pocket the savings for food etc. Saying that I'd also say if savings isn't part of it I would lean to POFQ as it is a smaller resort and very nice. Both Pop and CBR are a bit bigger and more spread out.

CBR is WAAAY to spread out for us, so that's a no.

I would suggest either POP or FQ. POP is that "in your face" Disney vibe, but in a good way, and it has the skyliner. French Quarter is nice and compact and lush with it's manicured bushes/gardens. One downside to FQ is sometimes sharing bus with POR.

As others have said above, CB is very spread out and Pop is great for what it is and on the skyliner, but no slide/hot tub. I would do Pop preferred pool view or any room at French Quarter. The boat to Disney Springs from French Quarter is nice too.
