Pop Century

My family just got back from an 8 day stay at Pop Century, on our second night there, we went to the food court and found all the cashiers dancing to the hustle. The lines were out of control and my 6 year old heard words that she's never heard before. Does anyone know if this is a daily routine for the cast members???

I don't know about the lines or the words used, but I do know that at certain times of the day the cm's at the resort do different dances (the hustle, the twist, etc.) and sometimes they hula hoop too.

We are leaving tomorrow morning and staying at POP, I"ll let you know if we see anything like that!

They do the Twist every morning at 8am and the Hustle every evening at 6pm! One of the things we love about Pop!!

Now that I am thinking about it, one time, when were at one of the All Star Resorts, I think we saw this hula hoop lying on the floor by one of the registers. I didn't think much of it. Now that I've read this about POP, it really makes me wonder......

We'll be there next week, too. I'll have to ask around. I hope I remember.

At Pop at certain times of the day the cast members to the Twist and the Hustle. We enjoyed it and I did not see a differance in the amount of people in line.

We also saw the Hustle and my DS (5) thought it was quite funny. Some people were annoyed at the cash but I think they just needed a good dose of

We've stayed there several times but I never knew that. Then again, we're NEVER at breakfast at 8:00 a.m.! THAT in itself would be a miracle to see.

We LOVE this about POP! that's what keeps us going all the time! i agree that people that didn't like it just needed a bit of I don't care about lines, i'm on vacation and with my family and htat's enough for me

As far as bad language, that's too bad it happened

Yep, they were doing the Hustle at six on the dot in the main lobby area the night we checked in two weeks ago. It was so fun to watch and brought back memories of doing that dance in junior high!

We were there last year and never saw any dancing. That's a shame too. I'm always looking for ways to embarrass my kids.

I did however see the lines, but no language. I just tune everyone else out and smile to myself and remember I'm at Disney. Yeah.

We have seen them do the dance before and the guests seemed to enjoy it even though no one was helping them at the time. I didn't think the lines got any worse because of it either since most people were watching them dance.

Do they play background music from each decade in the pool and courtyard areas? That would be fun.

Heck, DH and I got up and did the twist with them last year ! We will be back there in 9 days. Can hardly stand the wait!

That sounds SO fun! Another reason I love Disney - spontaneous magic!

Lines will always be there - remember you are at one of the biggest tourist destinations in the WORLD.

As far as the language - probably the wrong place, but my child will hear it elsewhere, too...the mall, the park. I just ignore it and if my child was to ask what it meant, I would just say it was an adult word and leave it at that...

Oh and newchic99 - DH, DS and I will be at POP in 10 days!!

Yes, we love that about Pop as well. We make it a point to be in the food court at least one day to watch them "do the hustle". The first time we saw it, we were amazed. My girls loved it. Then, some guests got up and started doing it with them - it was great fun! And yes, everything stops for a few minutes while all of the workers come out and do the hustle - the cashiers, the cooks, the cleaning people, any worker in the area - it's kind of nice to see them take a moment and have some fun and entertain the guests as well!

They do in the courtyard areas, except for late at night they turn it off. As for the pools this is a good question, i soo don't remember with all the times i've beent here YIKES!
