I've never travelled to the World with my father before. He is a smoker.

Can someone tell me if they sell disposable lighters at Everything Pop, or would we be better off buying them at the airport when we arrive?

We went with my dad (also a smoker) last time. He says he does not remember there being lighters at Pop, but that he was able to bring one in his pocket on the plane. A google search confirmed that it is ok to bring a single disposable lighter in your carry-on luggage. I hope this helps!

No lighters or matches bring your own. And please remind him to only smoke in the smoking areas. I hate walking thought smoke. They do fine. I have seen it happen several times.

Yes. They are the little Sunbeam kind that are installed on the wall and have a small night light on them. They work fine for me but I have thin, shoulder length hair. It works good enough that I don't pack my own.

Thank you for all the replies :)

Anyone going the week after Thanksgiving able to get a FP+ for BOG? It wasn't showing when I selected my FP+ for my trip a couple weeks ago. Just wondering if it was available or just all times were booked. TIA

BOG FP is on a separate site. If you go to beourguestlunch.disney.go.com you should be able to get a November date. Dec haven't released yet. :)

What is the reservation ID? I put in my confirmation number but it won't accept it?? Did you have to be invited to get a FP for lunch?

It is a rather long, all numerical string of characters that usually begin with the number "4". If you at using DME, supposedly the number is printed in the booklet and maybe the tags (?).

When the test first began, email invites were sent out - but many, including myself, have successfully made FPs and eaten there without issue. Good luck!!

I have actually read through all 224 pages of this thread. I mean cleaning the house and laundry can wait when there is Disney research to be done.:rotfl:

My next trip has already been filled with so much Pixie Dust I didn't know I could be more excited, but after reading about other's trips and new bedding and such......the next 33 days might be a little more painful. I will be arriving Thanksgiving Day for my first stay at Pop. And my very first trip around Christmas. I didn't think I'd be able to see Disney at Christmas time until I retire b/c my job is crazy busy during that time, but my employer said I had to take a week of lay off during the 4th qtr so I got my chance.

I do have a couple questions. I am planning to be at rope drop each morning. From what I've read on other boards some of the parks actually open a little early so they advise leaving an hour before opening. Does this still apply? And also, b/c I have a stupid gluten allergy (and actually all grains make me feel gross) I'm not really able to bring quick breakfast items with me. I eat eggs every morning which I totally love. Anyway, I read the food court gets a little nuts in the morning. Is it crazy at 7? I know it'll take my food a little longer to cook b/c they are careful b/c of food allergies, but trying to get an understanding if it's reasonable to believe I can be at the food court by 7-7:15, get/eat an omelette and drink a few cups of coffee and be on the bus by 8. Oh - and this is a friend trip so no littles to get ready or take care of...just me. I'm not even sure if my friend will do rope drop. She needs more sleep than me. I figure I'm at Disney and I'll sleep when I'm home. So darn excited! If all goes well this trip, I'll be booking a BB and taking my sister, BIL, 2 nephews and a niece next year. :yay:

After calling the front desk, it seems they won't hold things at the front desk. Unfortunate. :(

Thank you so much for trying. I tried to post earlier but couldn't get the post to go through on my phone. I hope you had a safe trip home.

Use the confirmation number on your magic band screen in MDX. That is how I got mine to work.

Thanks for the info. What's really funny is I finally got the email invite for the MB test this afternoon when I had already made my FP+ selection and my MB color pick. I check in on 12/1 so I'll add BOG ressie to my pre trip to do list.

we'll be arriving at POP on Halloween night... Does anyone know if they do anything special that night? Thanks!

Yes, they do....they have several special activities that they do at the resort for Halloween. We checked into POP last year on Halloween. Be aware though that these activities will start in the afternoon and will wrap up by like 8pm (maybe even slightly earlier!)

Janet posted a list of this year's activities....you'll probably have to work backwards page by page in this thread to find it... but it was posted by Janet. So just scroll thru looking for her posts and that will make it faster....she didn't post it that long ago. A few weeks ago at most, I believe. HTH!

What's the rope drop??

What's the rope drop??

Rope Drop is being at the park entrance turnstiles, ready to enter when the park opens (which at some parks, on some days is actually a little earlier than the posted time).

In the old days, people could enter the turnstiles and walk to various areas of the park and would be "held back" by CMs who would be holding a rope (like a jump rope) to keep guests from going any further. Ideally, guests would get to these spots so at "rope drop" they would already have a huge head start ahead of the people just arriving at the park entrance for the posted opening time.

There at still some ropes within the parks to hold back people who have entered early for breakfast ADRs, but now Rope Drop generally refers to the turnstiles.
