TO JANET AND THE REST OF YOU FINE POPer's PEOPLE!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me out with all of your knowledge and sweetness!!!

I will be back online probably Monday May 28, to give you my thoughts!!

THANKS AGAIN :thanks::grouphug::worship:

I think I'll be booking my first ever stay at Pop on Monday or Tuesday. After spending 2 hours reading about Pop...I'm excited!:cool1:

LoL! We are at POR right now. But Dh maybe taking a new job he has guarantee overtime right now. Not sure on the new job so we may be back at pop. The thing is I need to switch it tomorrow without knowing all the details of the job. Since the promo ends in a couple of days.
Or you could book both, not that anyone would do that :rotfl2: We are at POR Jun 2nd :cool1: Still at Pop for August :cool1:

Kelly, you guys have gone back and forth once or twice haven't you?? :) POR would be great if you guys can swing it (is the refurb all finished??). :thumbsup2

BTW .. you can always switch after May 18th ... just subject to availability. :cool1:

The voice of reason :goodvibes

To everyone leaving soon...safe travels :yay:

I'm nuts... Decided to book a trip to WDW in a month. :) Staying at Pop for the first time. Last year was the first I'd stayed on property - CBR

My 6 yo is sooooo excited about this. I showed him pictures last night and he can't wait. And he's agreed to ride "everything" this year. Last year, he was afraid of Thunder and Splash just looking at them.

If I have been reading all the various sites/blogs correctly, fridges and wi-fi are now included at each resort/room? Just planning ahead, can live without both, although DH would have a hard time w/o wi-fi. :)

Thank goodness we'd done this before, I'd never have been able to plan on such short notice if this was our first time. :) Thanks for all the super info here. I was torn between here or one of the All-Stars, and your info was just what I needed.

We've been on a weeks notice, so a month is nothing, well, unless it's more than a few days long.

Yes, there are now fridges and free Wifi at all resorts.

I will turn 39 on our trip, and I stil won't ride Splash, but I love BTMRR, I just hope it opens week after next as planned.

I will never stay at the ALL-Stars again, Pop has me spoiled.

Oh, how I love those last minute, unexpected trips! Happy planning and have a wonderful time!

AL is in my lists of resorts to never try! :thumbsup2

:yay: For your trip almost here! Sorry I cannot be of any help with Cocoa Beach, but would suggest checking out Trip Advisor - we have had very good luck using that site. We only book hotels or B&B's with 5 star ratings, but we read the good and bad and see what resonates with us. Good luck and have fun!! :cool1:

Oh, Christine, Pas was callling me the voice of reason! :goodvibes

Well we are REASON-ably sure Pas thoroughly checks out ALL resorts (again and again!)

:rotfl2: I should have realized that...or if I hadn't skimmed I'd have known to whom she was referring!:rolleyes1:goodvibes

Oh, yes...ALL resorts...although she might be a little bit biased in considering our POP. ;)

I tried to look at a rooms map but couldn't figure this out. Are there any king rooms that connect, if so where?

And is there driving maps. We are taking a car for the first time and need help. We still may use the buses too. Thanks.

I am very sure there are no connecting King rooms - usually if a king room does connect, it is to a dbl bed room. You could request adjoining rooms, which in Disney lingo would mean nearby....be sure the reservations are linked and at checked be sure to ask how close the room are and if another floor or building, ask if they could find rooms closer together.:thumbsup2

Cannot help with the maps as we never drive, but Janet does and several other POPers do - I am sure they will respond.

Happy planning and have great a trip! :goodvibes

:cool1: Like the idea of a countdown chain!! :thumbsup2

Okay you two, hours do sound better than days ... but what's next, shall we translate into minutes??? :teeth: Maybe EVEN better (if that's possible!):banana:

:woohoo: Have a great time!!

OK then! 17783 minutes for us....... as of 7:37pm EST. LOL! :teacher: :rotfl2:

I am glad we know the difference between adjoining and connecting !!!:goodvibesA CM told me there was no such thing as adjoining they were connecting !!I did explain the difference BUT she insisted she was right !!!So I just let her continue in her dilussion !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Right on Rosie!! ... and go ahead and tell 'em the difference, you should know your grammar you ARE english!! :lmao:

Well I ASKED for it!! I LOVE it!! Shave another 108 minutes off the countown ticker at 9:25 pm ...soooo, we are at 17675!! (assuming your original math is correct!) :goodvibes

And is there driving maps. We are taking a car for the first time and need help. We still may use the buses too. Thanks.

I'll be honest - we ALWAYS got lost if we were following the signs around to get to parks/resorts. Many of them are misleading, I think.

They will give you some info when you check in - and there is a map in the back of a booklet, I think - it looks vague, but is actually VERY helpful in navigating around the World. Old school - I hold the map and say "Turn left on such-and-such drive" and it works beautifully. Even better than GPS. :thumbsup2

I've stayed in 70s lakeview ( quiet) and 60s lakeview. The 60's was louder than the 70s, but it was nice to be so close to the food court and pool. I haven't stayed in 50s, so I don't know about that.

Has anyone gotten to check out, not liked the room location you were given, and been given a choice of room locations? We were at CBR last time and b/c we didn't like our room location they gave us another room. I would have liked a choice. Do they ever do this at POP?

Looks like we'll be there at the same time! We arrive in 7 days.

I prefer regular check in. Just in case I dont like the room location they assign me so we can discuss other options.

we often ask for another room. we often get pretty close to what we want (but not always)...

one thing is.. we are willing to wait for a "better room"(translation, room closer to what we want). we figure we would rather get what we want and wait a few hours, then get our rooom right away, and it's not what we want.

Well, mgsmom, for us its the opposite :)... we think the road signs are helpful! :goodvibes IMO, driving around within the "world" itself is actually easier than people may think ... plenty of signs to the parks and DTD (btw it is a huge time saver to drive to DTD!). Honestly the first year at OKW, I believe the CM gave a a map of the area (with a more detailed area of the world property on the reverse), but we really only referred to it when we needed to get to stores outside the Disney property itself as the internal roadways/signs were all we needed.

Having the flexibility of the car allows us to make more ADRs at the resorts, as it much eaiser to drive straight there rather than deal with the busing/transportation routes.

The only park we don't care to drive to is MK, we prefer the buses to parking at the TTC. However, we will still use POP busing as it offers great service. :thumbsup2
