Wanting to try Banana Bread French Toast at OKW or Chocolate Waffles at YC
Which is easier to get to and what is the best route?? I'm thinking , might be cab?

Cab will always be the most direct. But, for a busing alternative, from POP, take the bus to DHS and either (1) take the boat over to YC or (2) get on the bus to OKW.

For us, the question would be, what are our plans after breakfast?? Do you want to go into a park?? Go to DTD?? This would influence our decision on where to eat. (of course food plays a major role too)

Just got back yesterday from staying at Pop for the first time, with my girls. We loved it! We stayed in room 9440 which is on the 4th floor in an 80s room. It was great because we were right near the computer pool, very close to a little play structure, a short walk from Classic Hall as well as transportation, and it was very quiet. Thanks for this thread and all it's wonderful tips!

Thanks so much for the info! I went ahead and did the room only for the standard room. I am still puzzled about why I couldn't add the standard room to my res, since it was available. She said there was only preferred available, but I checked and double checked and it said standard for 5/26. In fact, it said there was no preferred available. Oh well, it's done and if we have to change rooms at least it will be in the same hotel.

It is puzzling. I didn't realize that standard is showing available online for 5/26. If it bothers you, suggest you call Guest Services and pose this question to them. Seems no reason why Disney can't add the additional day to your package ressie to secure standard throughout your stay.

Those sound good. Have you tried the French Toast Baklava at Kouzzina at the Boardwalk? Ohhhh my goodness , best breakfast on property by far.

I think I would just take a cab, especially if you have an early reservation.

So happy you enjoyed POP!! Bldg 9 is often overlooked by guests. Some rooms, especially in the area of bldg 9 you were assigned, are in close proximity to Classic Hall, busing and as you mention, the children's playground. A few years back we were assigned room 9461 (end room by Mr./Mrs. Potato Head and near the 70s area) -- we loved it!! Facing the courtyard but the computer pool was down in the 90s area ... close enough but also removed from pool noise.

tosha27 .... missed the notation you actually were able to book a standard room for 5/26 ... sorry.

Kelly is absolutely correct .. link the two reservations (room only & package) ... Disney should be able to accomodate you in keeping the same room, since your package is the same booking category.

Is anyone here booked on a BB rate for this August? (Room discount, not free dining). I have the AP rate booked for Aug 9-14, but it was only 5% off. I am wondering if the BB discount is any better?

All buildings at Pop have rooms designated as standard, in addition to the other types. So yes, building 9 has standard rooms. The other type building 9 has is standard pool view.

LoL! We are at POR right now. But Dh maybe taking a new job he has guarantee overtime right now. Not sure on the new job so we may be back at pop. The thing is I need to switch it tomorrow without knowing all the details of the job. Since the promo ends in a couple of days.

It wouldn't accept my credit card informaton to link to my KTTW cards. It gave me a message saying it was unable to process at this time. Do you think it was because it was so early? I did the check in at 6:30 this morning.

Is anyone here booked on a BB rate for this August? (Room discount, not free dining). I have the AP rate booked for Aug 9-14, but it was only 5% off. I am wondering if the BB discount is any better?

Not us ... we have the FD BB, since we traveled during FD last year that was the only promotion we were offered.

5% ... makes you wonder why Disney offers anything ... my sis was able to book her POP room at the AAA rate, at least it gave her 10%.

As jcarwash posted, standard rooms are available in all buildings. FYI, the 2012 map on the first page of this FAQ thread highlights preferred, and both pool views areas; any areas not highlighted are considered standard.

Kelly, you guys have gone back and forth once or twice haven't you?? POR would be great if you guys can swing it (is the refurb all finished??).

hmmm, have never done the on-line system myself, don't think it would have anything to do with the timing, maybe just a glitch. Did you try again yet?
