Pop Century Room Renovations

Love all the photos and details! Thank you so much to those who posted them! Now, I know it's already been asked many times, but here I go...

Are both the beds queens? Is the stationary bed a queen and the murphy bed a double/full? Or, are both beds doubles/fulls?

For those of,you getting the refurbishment rooms, what section were you in? I will be there first of August with a preferred room and would like to increase my chances by requesting a returned section.

Thanks!

I think your only chance for a preferred room would be requesting the 70's. Even then, I highly doubt any of the preferred rooms will be complete by August 1st.

The beds look like doubles to me.

There have been several construction documents/punch lists posted that refer to the room as a "queen". If you look at the pictures in post 826 on page 42 of this thread, you can see the punch list refers to the room as "Queen configuration" so I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that at least one of the beds is a queen.

The beds look like doubles to me.
We know one is a Queen, but the other one is looking more like a Queen than a double to me (Murphy stick out further than the Queen bed). On the old rooms, we were able to squeeze a pack and play either between the beds or next to the bed by the wall. These were a tight fit, but looking at the pictures, we wouldn't be able to do either. (both much smaller now). I don't need a pack and play this time around, but this is how I am trying to "measure" the dimensions in my head.

More new room pictures. They are stunning! The room feels so much bigger with the murphy bed.

For anyone wondering, the safe is in the dresser (picture below). No more safe keys! Yay! And the safe is big enough for a laptop!

Also, the bathrooms - WOW! what an upgrade!

More pictures in the post to follow.

AWESOME photos. Now I see COLOR COLOR ..... inside the murphy bed ...........

So I could probably stay a short trip if I leave the bed down the whole time.

And the shower heads are PERFECT ............. but the toiletries ............

Yeah, I better stay before they finish this thing and the price goes up ..........

Thank you for all the photos. These are stunning. Simply stunning. I'll be interested to see what the HA rooms look like but from what I see here we could definitely make do with a standard non-accessible room with all the updates especially in the bathroom area.

I'd get the Murphy so I'm still interested to know what size it is as well. Time will tell.

Oh, be aware that their room did not have a tub, only a shower. This was not an accessible room. It was a regular room. They were told that some rooms have tubs and some don't. That could be a problem for those with small children that take baths.

(I tried posting a link to the video, but you have to be a member of the page to view it. The page is called "I'm So Disney..." if you want to join it.)

Ok so I joined the FB group... I asked about the TV. They said probably around 52"!! And definitely 2 queens. Some rooms have showers only. We use a tub at home for my son, but would still be ok with a shower (it is huge!). So excited!!

I think they are moving to having all resorts carrying these toiletries. I stayed at Poly last month and they had those. POFQ has also started carrying them. So that is all three current designations of value, moderate, and deluxe. Supposedly they are doing away with those distinctions.

I was planning on calling tomorrow to make a request for our reservation tomorrow anyways but question...

How would I request a renovated room?

"Hey I just wanted to make a request for either a renovated room or a standard King room?"

Or

"Queen or King room?"

My point is they appear to be more upscale than the values have had (a low quality shampoo and bar soap). Each tier as you moved up had better toiletries. And honestly I would not be happy to be a deluxe and have the same as the values.

I was trying to say if they are upgrading the toiletries, putting in nice showers (nicer than moderates I've stayed in so far) and if that truly is a queen murphy bed to add to the other queen. Cha-ching, this is no longer a "value" and if they keep the price below moderates enough ... it's a room that will be hard to book.

Exactly. They are doing away with those distinctions and this is the first move toward their purpose. So yes the price will rise.

I like the new rooms except I'd rather have carpet. I'm amazed at how many people are complaining about lack of storage space. It looks like there is plenty of storage especially with the shelves in the bathroom. We go for at least a week, sometimes more, and only take a backpack each. I can't imagine bringing hanging organizers and bins lol.
