Pop Century Room Renovations

This is the last day of our stay at Pop. We have enjoyed the stay and I'm sure we will be back again. I loved everything about the refurbished rooms. Building 7 still has all the work papers on the windows and a lot of construction workers running around. They now have a construction wall up on one side of the bridge, it is along the lake side. Now heading over to CR for the next part of our trip.

Can you ask how long the bridge will be closed if you get a chance? TY

I know I'll have to take care of mine - I went with grey oak grain. Kitchen is black and grey ... HM inspired.

The one long scuff is the exact path the chairs would take when moving them to open bed. Don't know what the other big one is. A black scuff on "lower molding" of bath maybe a black sole shoe. Spots all over, I just think housekeeping will sweep and barely mop and over time will build up. Choice for bath not good, really could have just continued same from bed.

I'll be back at beach tomorrow night and will post some pics and give overall.

I will for sure return IF RATE STAYS close to now due to queen very comfortable beds, nice bath, beverage center as we bring food and I like the dresser a lot.

Story: When we walked in room DS1 (who is disabled) looked confused and DS2 said "where are you going to sleep?" He seemed worried. Then DD2 opened bed and DS1 giggled and said "my bed". I was going to put them in the real bed but, no DS1 really wanted the Pluto bed.

Looking forward to pics! What beach are you vacationing at? We love both the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. We are heading to Ft Lauderdale at the end of the month.

You mentioned the "DD" and "DS". Was simply wondering how often you get connecting rooms at Pop?

A change to our plans means I can request a refurbished room without concern for fitting a cot or air mattress. DD's Boy friend is joining us and has his own room. My DS will stay in his room and my DH DD and I will stay in our room. So unfortunately I wont be testing the fit of an air mattress but I can request a refurbished room without worry!

Did you see the option for guaranteed connecting rooms-for familes?

Just to clarify that while Disney will try to accommodate a request for connecting rooms I don't believe it's ever guaranteed.

I hate the coffee from those in room coffee makers. It tastes like water with a tiny hit of coffee. Yuck

Its not the usually non-brand hotel chain coffee at least

I like Joffreys, it just didn't taste right for some reason...have you ever had any issues with those in room coffee makers?

Sad to hear about the easily scuffed floors, but I still prefer scuffed floors to carpeting.

St Augustine. Here st DHS for final GMR and parking lot is filling up fast.

We arrive at night on august 11 and are planning to go to Epcot on the next day, just to do Universe of energy and then run to HS to do Great movie ride. We are trying not to be in those park on august 13!

I like Joffreys, it just didn't taste right for some reason...have you ever had any issues with those in room coffee makers?

Admit: We rarely make coffee in room, we are "social" coffee drinkers so prefer the specialty in park. Some hotels short on space I put coffee maker in closet.

We were going to do both but decided our real purpose was GMR so skipping the Energy time commitment.

We rode and for first time with a ride leaving I puddled up. We asked for cowboy scene (and planned second ride for gangster). They held us then put us in second row! Right at cowboy action and I was next to my bff Wicked Witch.

So perfect we decided that would be our memory, not riding again.

I know and have said it needed updates but gutting for this weird Mickey gang projection Ride - so sad.

Anyone who is at Pop now - Would you be willing to snap a couple pictures of the wall they put up at the bridge on hourglass lake? All this construction in the lake is going to play a part in deciding which decade to choose for my room request. Thanks!

I also highly recommend using bottled water.. if you use tap water.. the you will get chlorine water with an after taste of coffee!

When you get to podium just before loading ask for cowboy scene. If it's not next they'll have you wait. Worth it!
