I read in another post that Pop Century would be open soon. By soon I'm talking at the end of the year beginning of next. When I called Disney, they could give me no information on the opening of the resort. Does anyone know when it will open? Please information, information, information.

With any luck it will open in the next Millenium.

It is truly a horrific site. Good luck on getting an answer.

well maybe before easter but that is still uncertain. I second Eeyore. Level the place ;)

Sorry, no word on when or even if they will open Pop Century. I really wonder if they now think it wasn't such a great idea!! I also tend to agree with Eeyore. It is not the most aestetically pleasing of places.

We just drove by Pop Century last week and it looked like some of the buildings weren't done yet. I think maybe 2 weren't painted and didn't have the big icons on them

Just wondering... Do any of the people who are putting down Pop Century like the All-Stars?

I can hardly WAIT for POP to open. I stay at Sports ALL the time, so this will be a change for me.;) I had heard they were going to open in LATE Dec or Late Jan of next year, but have NO idea now when. Hope I can stay there in Feb.!;)

Zandy595......Yes, There are many people who do like All Star and yet hate the looks of Pop Century....including me.
It's those horrible words plastered all over!!! YUK!

It's my understanding that they may open, if the crowds warrent, in the spring. That came from the transportation boards. I believe it was Chipndale Express that told us that. It would be nice because then maybe it would free up some AllStars rooms.

Like some of you had said, I was hoping that it would free up the All-Stars. Then I could go stay at the All-Stars and later try Pop Century. I just hate that they release information to the press saying that it will open 2003, and no one know when.

By the time Disney opens Pop Century, it will be scheduled to close for referbishment.

Although All Stars really isn't my cup of tea, either, it is much preferrable, looks-wise to Pop Century! All Stars is cute... Pop Century is garish!

I didn't know that it looked that bad. I only saw it from an distance while I was at CBR. It's funny to hear how bad many says it looks. I'll go looking at some pictures of it. Thank for the input.

Granted what I have seen is different than what y'all have seen through the trees, I personally think it looks cool. Sure, it's not for everyone. But, wait till it is finished, and you have a chance to inspect it up close before passing judgement.

I do have to say though... my favorite thing... is the Pargos. (A Pargo is one of those extended utility/passenger golf carts that Disney uses)... At the Cast Services building near the Pop Century tunnel, I saw one that was modeled after a '57 Chevy. Had the rims, the fins, the lights, and even the fuzzy dice in the mirror... it was AWESOME. I wish I could have taken a picture of it.
