I went to the "Dollar Tree" tonight and I got the cutest Glow for the party.... they had glow lei's a9both neck and wrist) for DD and myself. Also got a plain set for DH, you wan't miss us there!!!!

Hi all - have not been on much because I started second job last week.
Well, least it'll pay for those Glowtinis!

We will be late arriving at party due to ADR but will be glowing and look forward to meeting every1

I'm thinking I should pack - it's 10 am Saturday, we're driving to airport 4 am Tuesday - hmmmm, maybe I should get started eh?

Just yesterday, we received school approval for 5 days. DD will miss 8 days which leaves 3 days "unexcused absence".
So, maybe we will be hoisted from the Hippy pool and hauled away to truancy jail?

We are bringing laptop so DD can do homework on plane and if needed, during a few midday breaks. I'm going to download photos also.
This is our first adventure into wireless so I reserve the right to lock puter in safe for duration at first sign of a tekkie headache

Well, may not have time to post again seeing as I have about 100 hours worth of chores and we are on the plane in 70 hours!!!

Hope everyone leaving this weekend has a Wonderful Trip and Lots of fun til the Glow Party!!

I have a question for those who are decorating doors/windows.... I am trying to decide what to put on my poster board as kind of a title or whatever. I haven't yet decided if I am putting it on the door or in the window. I was trying to think of a catchy name for our trip, but I'm not so good at that kind of thing. My screen name is Foxfiregrrl - so I thought about something with it. Or I would normally do like Peacock Family's Room/Trip... But we are Peacocks, Shepards and Youngs. Shepards (mom and dad) will have their own room, but still part of the trip. I also have limited decorations and was trying to decide if I should share, ie put some on our door/window and mom and dad's door/window or Hog it all & put it on mine
Here is what I have (and it may end up to be a lot after all): 1 strand green lights, 1 small set of princess window clings (3 princesses), 1 small dry erase board w/ pen, 3 sheets of stickers, about 30 cutout pics of characters ranging from 1" square to 3" square, and 6 (so far will prob. have about 10) coloring sheets of villians (colored by me ), and about 25 mickey head paint chips (all colors) w/ magnets on back. I think that is it. (WOW! When I write it all out it sounds like a LOT! )

So, I was thinking of putting the villians on the window w/ tape. The stickers and cut outs I was thinking I would put on the poster board. The mickey heads and dry erase board would go on the door. IF I share w/ mom and dad, then I would probably cut the poster board in half and do one for each door or window.

OK, so I am really creatively challenged. I have all this stuff now, but I don't really know what to do with it all. ANY suggestions are welcomed! Especially any catchy Trip Logos!! TIA!!

BTW, I need some PD! I've had a cold for the last week and am having a hard time shaking it I went to the doctor yesterday and the meds I got are helping. I am just hoping that I'm fully recovered AND that I haven't passed it to DH. He said he sneezed and blew his nose this morning I told him if he starts to come down, then he's going to the doctor ASAP!! Wish us luck! I don't want any sick folks at Disney!

I'm kinda creative, but copy more than create. I don't like having our family name out there - I don't know why, I'm OK with my Nickname or Screen name, but something makes me uncomfortable with everyone knowing my name and what room I am in. I also like to see out my CLEAN window. So with that all in mind, I am putting the poster board with writing tools on my door (they would block my view), then just along the bottom of the window I will have 2 Minnie Mouse heads (representing me and my DD) along the bottom with a little sign that says "LorilieMarie, Disboards' and the words "OH MY!" because that's what Minnie says.

If I were you, I would put the cute stuff in the corners, along the top and bottom, and share it with your families doors. Put the larger things on your door. Other phrases I thought I might use were: "Doin' Disney", "Disney Freak Week", "We're on a family fun run", "The mouse took our Money!". You could maybe say, "Foxfiregirl Family Fun Run - Disboards", or "Foxfiregirl's Fantastic Family Frolic" - They're all corny, I know.

Lori - Thanks for the help! After I posted here I went and laid everything out and was like WOW! It is a Lot. So, I'm definitely going to share (that is if mom and dad want any decorations). I hadn't really thought about the real names thing, but I kind of agree - so I'll stick with screen name. I don't really ever look out my window when I'm at a hotel (too busy I guess) but leaving some space to look out isn't a bad idea. I really love the "Foxfiregrrl's Fantastic Family Frolic"!! I'm gonna run it by DH and mom today and see what they think! THANKS!

I'm so excited now!! I can't wait!! We leave in 5 days!!

The not so good part of that is I couldn't sleep last night was thinking about all the stuff I still need to do. Packing, getting my Glow gear together, finishing my decorations, etc. It's way too early to start w/ the insomnia!!

It is NOT our job to ensure your happiness at Disney. If you don't want to be alone on your trip then DON'T GO ALONE!!!! You have been pointed toward the Solo Travelers board time and time again. Either you don't look there or you're not having any luck there either. Maybe a solo trip is not for you!!!!!!

AND I know that Several of the Very Nice people on this thread have continued to be kind and encouraging to you despite your very strange posts.

YES Disney is for everyone! YES Single people can come and have a Wonderful time! YES single people are more than welcome to join our Glow Party!

If you will notice though, MOST of the people who have been posting to this thread actually talk about themselves, their trip plans, tips, hobbies and interests etc. So that we will feel like we actually know each other when we get there.
You on the other hand give nothing I really hope for your sake that you are warmer and more talkative in person, or that may be the reason your still here trolling for dates.

I do hope that you have a great time while at Disney and I'm sure that you will because it is DISNEY!

as a teacher and Scout leader - we tell people of all ages,

"who's behaviour can you change?"

that's right, you cannot change my behavior or her behavior - you can only change YOUR own behavior... if what you are doing isnt working, than you need to change. In Scouts we have a "Safe Scouting" meaning, no put downs, etc, as is our school's philosphy - we have mantras posted "what do you want? what are you doing?" Does it match?

what do you want? to be married - or "hook up"?
what are you doing? creeping out people on a disney board, and as you possted on the solo board, same thing seems to be happening - so it does not match...

You've been given suggestions, but we cant change you. I've read many trip reports on those that go solo - they are comfortable, and confident going solo - you dont seem to be - its your birthday... maybe you need to do something different.. only you can decide.

Its my dd birthday also - I am not looking for anyone to make her birthday special. I have ordered cakes, slippers, balloons, and treats...

Reread what fox and pooch have posted - its not about you - its not about me... I have to make my happiness, not my dh - not my dd - until I am happy with me, I cant bring anything into our relationship - same thing for friendships...
