Looking forward to seeing the resort. Just booked a weekend in February. I was sort of half way expecting for it to be booked and unable to get a room, but they had one.

I've heard that "Preferred" will be the rooms closest to the main building in the 60's and part of the 50's. However, there should still be rooms in the Lady & the Tramp section that will not require the Preferred $10. Make sure to request it, even if it is preferred, there's always that chance you might be upgraded.

(of course nothing is guaranteed... everything is subject to change)

I booked a "preferred" room for myself & 10 y/o DD 3rd week of January - can't wait!! I don't know if this has been asked before, but how easy is it to find the hotel by car?! I always found the AS resorts to be easy in, easy out. Is PC set up similarly? The only reason I gave booking it a 2nd thought is that it appears to be somewhat isolated. Thanks for all your input & advice! Laura

I was driving through Orlando in Sept on my way to visit the west coast (grandparents) and stopped at DTD to visit with a friend. I arrived a bit early and drove around. I wanted to 'case out' PC before our Feb visit.

It was so easy to get to, and knowing only that it was near Wide World of Sports, I found it easily.

PC is far from isolated! It's VERY close to the Studios... DTD, Epcot and AK aren't that far, either. And neither is the MK.

PC is located right next door to Caribbean Beach, if that helps place it.

Will we be able to drive up to the lobby opening day and drop someone off to GET IN LINE (LOL) Whos up for spending the night out in the drive way the night before,,so we can be the FIRST ones there??? I didn't see any machines in place when I was there last... however, I'm sure they'll be brought in soon. Remind me of this in December, and I'll get back to you.

If you're "dedicated" enough to form a line, they should at least give you room key cards that have CHARTER MEMBER on them (just like the Disney VISA card)

DD will be so excited to hear that they will have pressed penny machines right at PC! She really got into getting pressed pennies as souveniers when we went to California on vacation in June and she has been telling me to put aside pennies and quarters for her for our trip in Dec.

Tyler, or anyone else. What are the closest buildings to the handicapped parking and food court? We don't want the closest building to the bus stops, but have some mobility issues. Should we pay for preferred, or are there other options? I love the Hippy Dippy pool and would like to be on it, too.
