My DH and I are flying down in about 10 days. We are flying standby so we are not going to check luggage but just do carry ons. His deodorant of choice is a spray can of right guard . We are having a heck of a time trying to find one that is 3 oz or less. He called the company that makes it but they can only say they make it in that size and not where it is sold. they told him about a website which he checked out but you have to buy 3 cans and then also pay shipping. the total would be about $14 when all he wants is a little 3 oz can! does anyone know if they sell this in the hotel gift shop? I am sure that even at hotel prices it would not be as much as $14.

thanks for any help.

Don't know if they sell it at Pop, but have you tried Walmart? They have a great travel section..................Hope this helps

the company that makes right guard says walmart sells it but does not know which ones. we have tried the walmart near us and they don't have it. my dh has called several but apparently they don't like to answer the phone in that department

POP did have some toilettries in the shop near the exit doors that take you out to the bus stops but I couldn't say exactly what they stock. :confused3

Could you e-mail POP and ask them ? :surfweb: no harm in asking....

thanks for the idea about emailing because the light bulb on top of my head then went off saying "duh, call them!" We did but they didnot answer in that shop so we left a message on their voice mail to call back.

I think we bought DHs carry-on Right Guard at Target, if that is convenient for you.

Does Hudson News at the airport sell stuff like that? It too would be expensive, but another thought.

Why not pack a small box of toiletries and such and ship it to your resort? It is awfully hard to use trial size shampoo, deo, hairspray, etc. You could ship it for less than the cost of all that little stuff.

I would also check onlione at drugstore.com--if you're a first time customer you only need to buy $25 to get free shipping, and it wuold be waiting for you.

shipping it could be iffy, depending on the method. PO has some rules about shipping aerosols and liquids.

thanks for some of the ideas. We did try Target but did not see it. I'm still waiting for the sundries shop to call us back from the voice mail we left. As for shipping, we don't really have enough stuff to ship. I work for a major shipping company and I know that aerosol cans are considered dangerous goods. Most people shipping things do not know this and probably ship it all the time. However apparently something could happen. that is not my area of expertise. We have noticed in the stores that almost all the men's deodorants are sticks or roll ons. Not much in the way of sprays anymore. My dh says if he can't get the small travel size he will use my deodorant!:scared1:

I was just at Target and didn't see it either. But I know we bought it there because DH found out on a Sunday that he had to fly out on Monday and couldn't check his bag. Did you try the deodorant aisle instead of the travel size?

Walgreens also surprises me with their travel size section. You could also try CVS.

I'm just trying to keep you from spending too much--though driving around is no bargain either.

Yes, we tried the regular aisle. We also tried CVS. I am going out of town this week end (about 4 hours from home) and will try the Walmart there. My dh called two local hotels too (one did not have a sundries shop but gave free stuff to people who needed it). Still waiting for a call back from the Pop century sundries shop.

Oh, no Walgreens near me either but when I go away this week end I'll try stopping anywhere they might have it! we are now on a mission!

I know you said it's his "deodorant of choice" but can he live without it just for the trip? Whenever I get a free sample, I just put it aside and then take it along on trips. I don't care what brand it is, as long as it works. I've even used Old Spice on occasion (female). There will be deodorant on sale at the gift shop, just not sure what brand or kind. Spray on deodorant is kind of not common these days.

Wait a minute. When exactly are you arriving? We are getting there on Saturday, August 30th around lunch. We are driving so if I can find a full spray can of what he wants, I can bring it along and drop it off at Pop Century if you want. PM me if that will work.

Thanks disnut8. that is very nice but my husband says he will use a stick if necessary. Interestingly he had called the phone # for pop century yesterday and they had tried to reach the sundries shop but no answer. they put him into their voice mail.. because no one called back I called the number today. Apparently even though they answer Pop Century they are really guest relations for all the resorts. He told me guests can not call directly to the sundries shop. I told him we were put into voice mail yesterday for them. He just apologized for the wrong info and said they sell lots of stuff but could not give me brand names etc. Then he just wished me a magical day. He was very nice but obviously conflicting info.

thank you all for your responses. I am visiting family now about 4 hours from my home and they have Walgreens. I was able to find the small Right Guard there! :cheer2: I bought 2.
