Poor Unfortunate Souls ~ A Spooktacular Trip Back to the World! UPDATE Reality Check

Stefy,
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are awesome, what a fabulous Birthday you planned and executed for Dave. He is one lucky guy. Fantastic from start to finish. I love the spa/massage idea. The watch, all the wonderful gifts in the room after dinner, the cocktail time, the pontoon boat, the petals on the bed. That was just one of the nicest birthdays I have seen in a long time. I would put it in my top 3 list, for sure.
I love to make people's birthday special, it is one day a year and really if you can't go all out on their b-day whn can you?
Bravo Stefy and Dave.

PS
One year, well the last that they still had a race in the US. I surprised my DH for his birthday with a trip to Indianapolis for the F1 race. That was the biggest I ever did.

Thank you :) I had so much fun planning it and could hardly contain myself I wanted to tell him so badly. But I was very good even until execution of everything.

What a lovely surprise you did for your DH, bet he very excited/happy :)

that looked like the most amazing birthday... ever!! well done Stefy :thumbsup2

I am even more excited for honeymoon now as we are going to do a couples' spa, dinner at 'Ohanas & a Wishes cruise :wizard:

shame about the lunch at Tony's.. it sounds like the CM just wasn't in the right frame of mind?! :confused3 I've never eaten there, my parents have and said it's ok.. except that my Mum asked to see the wine list :rolleyes1 bless her!

Could you PM me how much that Disney Florist package was?! it looks fantastic!!

Emma princess: x

Thanks :) It was a shame about Tony's as apart from that everything else was just perfect (I don't count the hiccups as they worked themselves out in the end).

Of course, I'll send it over in a sec.

WHAT A GREAT BIRTHDAY ......... and so many wonderful surprises!

It was really exciting and fun to read all about Dave's birthday! You really outdid yourself!
No wonder he looked SOOOOOOOOOO happy in that one photo on the boat! :thumbsup2

Thank you :) It's a shame I didn't many pictures but you get the gist of all the important bits of the day.

Wow!!!! What a great day for Dave. That was one awesome birthday for him. Great job Stefy! :thumbsup2

Thank you :) I can't recommend the Wishes Cruise enough, it was so much fun and a spectacular view.

Awesome day! Great job, Stef!! The question isn't whether YOU can top that, it's if DAVE can top that for your birthday!! :lmao:

Thank you :) I do wonder if there will be any little surprises for this year, will just have to wait and see.

Well, I just grabbed a nice hot cup of coffee and sat down with my laptop to see you had a new update and all I can say is....Way to go Stef!!! You get a standing ovation for that one!!!!! What an amazing birthday Dave! That update was well worth the wait!

100% Awesomeness!!!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you :) He was so pleased and had a cheesy grin on his face all day and that was all I wanted to see him happy.

Oh, Stef! You did SUCH a fabulous job for Dave's birthday!!! As I read, I was more and more impressed by how many wonderful surprises you had in store for him!!! :goodvibes

Thank you :) Luckily we are not there for his birthday this year, but I do have one or two surprises on the horizon for the honeymoon :teeth:

WOW!!!! I think that is the coolest birthday ever!!! I would have been thrilled if the day ended after the massage. But then the awesome room suprise and a Wishes cruise! Incredible! You want to plan my next birthday?

Thanks :) Tell your DH to contact me if he needs help with any surprises would be more than happy to help out.

This is something that I enjoy doing and if we ever move to Florida I either want to apply for a job at Disney Florist or Disney Fairy Tale Weddings.

What a wondeful suprise!! The boat and room were such a sweet idea for a b-day gifts!:lovestruc

Hi and :welcome: Thanks for joining us and for the lovely comments :)

Great update! What an awesome day of birthday surprises!

Thank you :) It was so hard to not say anything to him, usually when I get him a gift I can't wait to give it to him and if there is more than one I usually give something early I'm that excited

Wow! What a great birthday you planned! :yay: I think you should submit these last entries to Disney corporate so they can hire you as the birthday activity planner they never knew they needed.

Hello my friends,

The best thing about my recovery is being able to catch up on the DIS. Your TR was my first stop. Wow!!! It looks like you had a great time at MNSSHP. I wish I could get that many PP's! I am making it a goal for this year. I loved all of your pictures.

Stef, you did an amazing job with Dave's birthday surprises. It looked awesome. :)

I loved all of your descriptions of the F&W Festival. The foods looked very yummy. I'd need a cart to haul my butt around because I'd be too full to walk!. :lmao:

I can't wait for next year! We're going to have a great time!

She completely out did herself :goodvibes It was the best birthday ever and the best day of my life because I got to do all that cool stuff, be in WDW and spend the whole day with her, I will never forget it :lovestruc

Just wanted to say hi :wave2:and I love your report:lovestruc. I think it's so cool how you and your DF talk about your trips. You can really tell how much you love each other. I felt a bit like a peeping tom actually just reading and not introducing myself:rotfl: Thank you for sharing, this was a brillant report.
You've given me a bunch of ideas from the pics of DF birthday and I want to give you a BIG thank you as we are starting a new chapter in our lives and it will start with our next vacation and these ideas will make even more special:cloud9:

Stefy...WOW...that was so good yoy managed to keep all those lovely ideas a surprise from Dave! and they almost all seemed to work out so well!

The watch from your friends looked very cool, the cocktails with the fancy accessories and ice cubes, the amazing display by the florist and a glowing fireworks cruise, you probably engineered one of the most coolest disney days ever without stepping on a single ride!

And O'Hana's, I 've developed such a fascination for there, really want to try it out and was so happy to see some nice detailed food shots...mmm!:cloud9:

Thank you :) It was so much fun to plan and execute. I'm so glad that no major disasters happened, it really did go quite smoothly :)

Ohana's is a great place, very busy though as it's so popular and a popular choice for wedding dinners. The food is fantastic though, all you can eat meats and the veggies are yumma. I think we skipped dessert on this one, but am told it is to die for :)

Hey Guys :wave2: How are we doing? Weeks going ok so far? I promise promise promise that I will get an update done very soon. I was supposed to do one at the weekend but got caught up in other stuffs. Thank you for being patient with me, but I promise the wait is worth it :)

TTFN :tigger:

You should still be sleeping........seriously :scared1:

@Kleese Thankyou for the kind words, I am glad you are enjoying the report so far :goodvibes

Stef didn't mention the nightmare brat kid from hell in the room next door to ours, maybe she will go into it later :rolleyes1

Day 11 - Sunday October 10th
So its time for another update, sorry its taken so long. Wedding stuff is just taking over and to cap it all off I have decided that I want to organise my dad's 60th in August. Crazy I am, just crazy!!!

Day 11 was supposed to be a resort kind of relaxation day followed by some miniature golf. But we decided against the original plan and went to DHS instead. There aren't many pictures from this day as things kinda went a little downhill. I think it was because DHS was so rammed and rides started breaking down I kinda had a mini meltdown. I think we went with the intention of riding ToT and RnR which were both down. There was no way we were gonna line up for TSM so we kinda wandered a bit aimlessly. We had complimentary FP's from the night the monorail broke down and we contemplated using it on TSM, but changed our minds once RnR was up and running and used it for that. I do love this ride, so cool. After RnR ToT was back up and running too so we decided to wait the 20mins for our very first ride.

Now I am not one for vertical rides as to me its just like falling (which freaks me out) but I have to say I love love loved ToT. The whole time we were going up and down I had a great big grin on my face. Dave on the other hand was screaming like a girl and gripping my hand oh so tightly (sorry babe had to be told). Can't wait to go back on this again and luckily we will be spending the day with Sophia and Joe at DHS so hopefully I have a buddy in Joe for riding ToT.

Told you there weren't many pics, but I do have some PP ones for you if you are interested. Oh just discovered this one though, we saw it as we were waiting for the bus to DHS.

I love the ToT pics in black and white, goes so well.

We decided to catch a showing of BatB which was just about to start. I didn't bother taking pictures this time as A) we got a ton from our first trip and B) I just wanted to enjoy the show.
WDWTrip20101740.jpg

Now I love the show, but we had a few problems during. First there was a woman sitting behind Dave that just had to have her feet up on the back of his chair and to make matters worse kept fidgeting, in the end I had to turn around and say could she please move her feet as he had a big bruise on his bum lol. She kept her feet down the whole time after that. The second downer during the show was that I was sitting next to a snotty man (snotty as in cold) who was constantly blowing his nose, at one point he blew so hard I actually felt a drop of water :scared: This resulted in the rest of the trip with me catching whatever Mr McGermy had and getting sick  Luckily it was towards the end of the trip, but was still a bummer.

We left after BatB as it was just too busy and too hot to be fighting the crowds, so we ended up going back to the room to chill until dinner.

Dinner was at GF this night and one we were both looking forward to. We hopped onto the monorail to GF and wandered the grounds to look for Narcoossee's. Dave took some pics along the way.
WDWTrip20101743.jpg

WDWTrip20101746.jpg

The GF isn't a bad resort, but I am glad I changed my mind and stuck with the Poly for our Disneymoon. I can't think of anywhere else we would rather stay from now on.

Our ADR was for 5pm, which was when the restaurant opened, so had to wait a few mins before we could check in so we walked around the verandah and took some pics.
WDWTrip20101750.jpg

Home!

WDWTrip20101754.jpg

WDWTrip20101756.jpg

I can see why its a great spot to watch Wishes from. Now I apologise for the next picture, I always hate when we go to the zoo and say to Dave "I don't want to find these pics on my camera" lol. But he just had to take it.
WDWTrip20101759.jpg

Says it reminds him of Venom from Spiderman

WDWTrip20101764.jpg

WDWTrip20101765.jpg

We went back inside to check in and were seated pretty quickly.

Our server was very nice and friendly and explained the menu to us. Am kicking myself for A) not bringing it home and B) not taking a picture as it was a personalised menu with Happy Birthday David on it. Oh well maybe next time.

For appetisers, Dave ordered his new favourite the Artisinal Cheese board and I went for the Duck Rolls.
WDWTrip20101767.jpg

WDWTrip20101768.jpg

Dave of course loved his cheese, my duck rolls were ok bit too big and crunchy for my liking.

For our main we ordered the same, Surf and Turf. Filet Mignon and Lobster. We were really looking forward to trying this dish as we had never eaten lobster before.
WDWTrip20101769.jpg

The filet was delish and the lobster was good, but I could get it off the plate properly and had to eat it still attached to the claw, also didn't help that it reminded me of a brain

For dessert I went for the Gelato Sampler which was yumma and Dave had the Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse Dome.
WDWTrip20101773.jpg

WDWTrip20101771.jpg

WDWTrip20101774.jpg

All in all a pretty good meal, but did not overly impress me. We are going to try Citrico's this year which I am quite looking forward to.

On a side note, we happened to be seated next to a couple where the wife was a fellow Diser. We found out because she was taking pictures of her food whilst hubby was looking on not impressed, she said "I have to take a picture for the boards honey" We got to talking a little, but not much she didn't tell us her Dis name and we never bothered telling her ours.

After dinner we did a little bit of shopping in Summerlace (ladies fashion) where I scored some gorgeous Disney Couture tops based on the book The Art of the Disney Princess. I have to get Dave to take some pictures of some of our purchases, will get him on to that soon. My lovely hubby to be also treated me to a Dooney & Bourke wristlet bringing my total wristlets to 3 and I love love love them :cloud9:

We hopped back onto the monorail to the resort to drop off our purchases and to make our way to MK for...
WDWTrip20101645.jpg

That pic was taken on Dave's birthday when we were in MK briefly.

We were very excited to try the Dessert Party as we had heard great things about it. Dave also managed to get quite a few pictures as well. Enjoy :)

Love the changing colours on the Castle. I tried to get all the colours (not sure if I succeeded).

There was also a PP Photographer there which was cool so we got a few shots in with them too.

Then it was time for the fireworks to begin. Not the best pic of Tink but you get the idea. Is so cool to see her fly and she literally flies right over you on the terrace.
